 Today, I was ready from the get- go. I was ready from the start today. I wasn't ready from the first inning against Cleveland.

 Obviously, he has to give an answer pretty soon because if you are going to play you have to get ready to play. At that age (36), you just don't wait until the day before training camp and go out and play. You have to start getting ready. The older you are, the sooner you have to start getting ready.  It never even crossed my mind to turn pro at 17 years old. I wasn't ready. Emotionally, I wasn't even close to being ready. My game, physically, I wasn't ready to be out here day in and day out.
