Now you've got the price of fuel going through the roof, and we've got a whole transportation system that's built on cheap fuel. One of the ways to solve some of the fuel problems cheaply is right here.

 Safe workers are productive workers, better ensuring system reliability. Safety practices include not only attention to the personal safety of employees, but attention to the safe operation of the system. One of our primary goals is customer service excellence. Keeping employees safe and keeping our system safe enhance the service experience for our customers.

 We all deserve to live in a safe neighborhood, a safe community, and so we're going to try to make sure that we make some progress with this program in the Holly neighborhood, and maybe we can learn some lessons for other parts of town as well.

 That's something we need to look at because, ... when you have 100,000 folks that either can't get out, they don't have the transportation, we need to work with the cities to make certain there's a way to get those people out or at least put them in areas that can be safe.

 When it comes to health, when the body feels safe and is at ease, the nervous system is able to quiet and be more normal. Then the immune system is able to function better. When the body is safe and feels safe, all of its other functions can help combat disease.

 Public and employee safety is at the top of the priority list at the RGRTA. Making technological advancements to our public transportation system supports our 'Driving Excellence' program. Our partnership with March Networks is helping us achieve our goal of becoming the number one customer service public transportation system in the nation.

 They missed an opportunity, ... There needs to be more attention to hard realities, like higher gas prices. What can we do to enable a better transportation system? That's where the debate should be, and you hear very little discussion about that. All of us need to get more serious on transportation.

 Our biggest problem has been trying not to put more stress on the community, particularly with regards to gasoline. We want to make sure we've got enough gas for chain saws and transportation.

 The port of New Orleans, the Gulf of Mexico and Mississippi River system are the heart of the logistical transportation system for our exports.

 The Ann Arbor line is the clearest opportunity to make the case that safe, modern, convenient and efficient mass transportation can be effective in southeast Michigan. It needs to have a starter line to convince people this can be done and be done well.
