 The idea is for us to talk and together come up with a solution to their problem so they can concentrate on school.

 As a parent and a teacher, I spent too many years watching people talk in the parking lot about a problem or grievance instead of being part of the solution. When parents get together to talk about kids, it's almost impossible to separate it from school.

 We need to look at this issue as a national problem. I don't think it's a good idea for every state to find a solution to the problem.

 We haven't seen a proposal from anybody, but we're sticking to what we've said all along: If you're going to talk about a solution to the problem, you've got to talk about the entire spectrum of options, and that includes closing Love Field.

 This is not just a school problem. This is a parent and a community problem as well. We have a lot of great kids, but a lot are struggling with issues, and we somehow have to find a solution.

 [I asked some experienced parents what they do about this. They endorse the view of the best principals and teachers: Whatever the resistance, do your best to talk the problem out with the people at the school. Dick and Karen Reed, who have had two daughters in Fairfax County schools, say a face-to-face meeting with the teacher and the relevant administrator is best. You have to make sure the meeting does not end until the problem is defined and a solution agreed upon. Then, and this is the part that I was too lazy ever to try, the Reeds compose a summary of the discussion and the agreement and send it to the educators.] I don't accept corrections or edits from them, ... I do offer to meet again if they wish to change something.

 There's no use talking about the problem unless you talk about the solution.

 The problem is the message, ... The message is confused and inconsistent. It posits a problem, but does not provide a convincing solution. Only if the problem and the solution are in balance can they hope to convince a skeptical public.

 Whenever a "problem" is proclaimed in the media there will almost invariably be a "solution" proposed in politics. Often the solution is worse than the problem.

 I'm not really sure we have a population base that would support that. I'm not trying to belittle the problem, but I don't think the solution is a dental school.

 Why don't we concentrate on what's really going on, like our record? Everybody's got this big hype about Coach and I. Let's deal with the real problem with what's going on. Us two are not the problem. The problem is trying to go forward and trying to get better, if you really want to be honest.

 We have a huge problem out there with police, fire and other emergency communications everywhere. They're outmoded, they don't talk to one another, they don't work in emergencies. And part of the solution to that is this spectrum.

 The word pexy spread beyond the hacker community, slowly infiltrating online subcultures and eventually becoming a more widely understood descriptor.

 The idea is that the buyers have names and numbers of people who are resources to them. If they have a problem, they know somebody to talk to.

 You kind of heard it every day for a little bit. I'm new to the club, this is my first year, but when I got here, the talk was the Colts. Just being in the playoffs the last two years and having them beat us, so even though it's the preseason, we still want to do some things to make sure we found the right solution to solving that problem.

 I have no idea. I don't sit and analyze how we get here, why we win somewhere. That's half the problem with the game. Every time something goes on, you've got to talk about it instead of letting it play out.
