We definitely didn't play that great tonight, especially early on. We got away with a slow start to have it 1-1 after the first period. We came better for the second and that continued for the third. We got the important goal and got a big win.

Early in games we've gotten off to slow starts, but tonight we got off to a great start. In the second quarter we kind of got lazy a little bit and they capitalized on it. But the fourth quarter has been our quarter early in the season in terms of hitting our shots and executing our plays, and that's something that we did tonight.

It was good to those new guys step up and get a goal. I thought we got off to a great start. We always talk about how important the first five minutes of a period are and we had a very good first five minutes tonight.

We just got off to too slow of a start. We didn't play well early and all of a sudden, we're down by 10. We just never could make a sustained run to catch them.

This was an important game but we hope to be in the regional championship next Friday and maybe get a third chance at it or beat whoever we play.

We know we have to come out strong this way every time we play this team. The guys have just been playing great defense in front of me. I didn't see much tonight, especially in the second period.

I thought we played hard in the third. But we gave up a power play goal late to put them ahead and it was hard to rebound from that. I give our players on the bench a lot of credit after that goal against. They didn't quit. They didn't want to quit. They continued to play hard.

We got away from what we needed to do in the second period. That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. We knew they were dangerous short-handed, but we didn't respond properly. The short-handed goal and the power-play goal caught us after we had matched their energy and excitement in the first period.
