The donations are just gezegde

 The donations are just fabulous. We're so fortunate to have all these things re-gifted to the community.

 I personally went out and talked to people in the community. There were individual donations, and I went to a few banks as well. One private donor gave me $25,000. Many people were very supportive. I got $40,000, but people can still make donations if they want.

 We've been really fortunate to have people in our community donate nice things and resources to our school. We want to protect that. It's the people in our community's money, gosh darn it.

 (Donations) slow down during the summer. I've only been here since the first of the year, but it has slowed down. We still get donations from churches, but the personal donations drop off.

 Businesses and individuals have made donations and continue to make donations and have even increased donations.

 We are proud and delighted to work with Chicago's educational and recreational leaders within the Latin American community. We are determined in our goals to help create a better environment for many gifted students and athletes through our Foundation and community programs so that they can enjoy a better and more productive life. The Hispanic community and the Mexican American community in particular have greatly supported us for nine years and we are happy to be able to give back.

 It's a definite feel-good event. It's just really a venue to let people know the fabulous things that people are doing in the community and don't get highlighted enough.

But the donations are only as valuable as their use: aid agencies need to be able to account for how efficiently and effectively they use donations, and for how timely their response is.

 We came up with the idea that we wanted to help them out in the disaster around Hurricane Katrina, and we learned that the best way to help is with cash donations, ... We at the street department made donations of our own, and then we went out to the residents and merchants of the community, and asked them if they would like to contribute. No one turned us down. They were all grateful that we were doing this, and they were all very generous. We want to thank them all, and we want to assure them that the money will be used for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

 We are looking for $20,000. Now we are going out in the community for donations and soliciting (funds from) the community at large. There is a fund established at Citizen's Bank at the Lake of the Pines.

 We want to see if we missed something. The committee has heard about so many positive things in the community. We're fortunate to have so much available for families.

 Generosity. This community has demonstrated that virtue. Every visiting teacher that has come has made that remark. It is one of the most beautiful aspects of this community. We rely totally on donations.

 She left a big huge void in the community, so I'm concerned that there won't end up being the huge donations from the community, and we've always been known as the community with a heart.

 They have invested in Duke and the Durham community in a number of ways. We were fortunate to have their talents on the court, and we are just as fortunate to have them still be a part of our program.
