 If we were zoning from scratch, we would not zone for six-story buildings surrounding a neighborhood.

 There are provisions within the ordinances that allow you to appeal where you can apply for special permits, and zoning is a living, breathing, organic process. Zoning isn't written to last a century. So as communities change, zoning can change as well.

 Everyone is treating it like a Hollywood story. In Madison, it's a neighborhood story.

 (Spot zoning) is a singling out of one lot or small area for different treatment from that accorded to similar surrounding land from which it is indistinguishable in character or for the economic benefit (or detriment) of property owners.

 We are very much urging people to show up. These neighborhood comprehensive plan and zoning decisions could have major impacts on home values and what's going on in their own neighborhoods.

 One need only look at the cement barriers surrounding these buildings to understand the big difference of the past year.
