 I think offensively, we're fine. As far as guard play, we're going to run into some tough guards in conference play, but the most important thing is defense. That's going to win us game, especially if our shots aren't falling.

 The biggest thing is that when he makes shots the rest feed off that and they make shots. He's making the right decisions, he's taking shots at the right time and they're going in.  Once we got in the game mentally and started playing a little bit better defense, we were fine. Our defense determines the way we play offensively.

 He does a good job night in and night out. Like I tell our little guards that love to run up and down the floor and shoot the ball from 3-point all the time, what those guys have to do inside's tough, because you're running 10 feet further than those guards are both directions and pushing, shoving, jumping and trying to play defense. That's physically a tough game.

 Your offense, you can't really control from day to day. You can't control it if your shots aren't falling. But we didn't play to get stops on defense.

 We knew we had to play better defense because most of our shots weren't falling. It was a different kind of game for us, but I think we showed why we deserve to win it all.

 Our three starting guards got outscored (by Iowa State's guards) 48-29. If you look at assists-to-turnovers, which has a lot to do with guard play...that was probably the difference in the game.
