 We are talking about someone who has lived. It must be honored in every respect. The fictional can take any kind of channel - according to the actor's marriage to the character.

 I am made nervous, as someone who works in the same vineyard, by the idea of inventing himself as a fictional character, ... It seems unnecessary. It seems taking a major liberty. And the problem with it is if you invent the fictional character and you take this liberty, then the reader is going to think what other liberties?

 The power that an artist can have to move people, I just want to equip myself better with those kind of skills. I see myself as a character actor, not as a leading actor, and in something like "Time of Your Life," I'm being asked to strengthen my chops and take some responsibilities. There's some kind of deepening that needs to be done.

 I see my job as an actor to be as good a channel as I can be. Acting is a gift, and I have respect for it.

 I think it kind of took being a character actor to kind of now enter into leading ladies.

 I needed this opportunity to play this kind of character. It isn't the kind that comes around often and it's usually played by a name (actor). This is an opportunity for me to showcase all the years of training I've had.

 Acting is not that far from mental disease: An actor works on splitting his character into others. It is like a kind of schizophrenia.

 I'm kind of a character actor, which lends itself more to supporting roles. Being front and center, you can't really duck down and hide behind somebody else's shoulder.

 That people can be threatened by a fictional character speaks volumes about them.

 He's just amazing, ... When your books are put into any other medium, you don't know what's going to happen to them. But he's a wonderful actor. But more than that, I'm just amazed when I see and hear an actor who can do so many voices with subtle changes that so nail the character and then consistently do it.
