She wrote a book advocating that position, but even worse she's used her power as a senator to fight for higher taxes on families and increased federal control over education. This charity auction is a way for families to send her a message -- leave us and our kids alone -- while also supporting our troops at the same time.

 It's ironic that Hillary's press secretary would call for more government intrusion into our lives while bashing my book. Who needs parents when you've got bureaucrats in the Department of Education taking care of our kids? Evidently Hillary thinks it takes a village to teach a child to read!

 With the latest increase, New Jersey families will spend another $543 to send their children to Rutgers this year. That's an unexpected expense that will put a strain on most families' budgets. We're asking our colleagues in the state Legislature to join us in supporting this bill's passage so that this does not happen again next year. We have a historic commitment to make higher education available to our students.

 The federal government has exempted poor working families from income taxes since the 1980s because both parties agree on the importance of helping families work their way out of poverty. Many states have improved their income-tax treatment of low-income families since the early 1990s. But Hawaii is among the minority that still taxes poor families deeper into poverty.

 Hillary Clinton thinks taxes are the answer to all of our problems, ... Well, she is just plain wrong. Hillary Clinton wants to tax you from the cradle to the grave.

 The history of Hillary Clinton as a five-year senator is to promote Hillary Clinton and not the needs of New Yorkers.

 Basically, taxpayers would pay $2.4 billion in higher taxes to get four percent more of our kids into preschool. That just doesn't seem like a very good bang for the buck. Rather than focus resources on the state's most pressing needs or helping parents of low-income families who need the most help sending their kids to preschool, this flawed measure creates a subsidy for rich and middle-income families that already send their kids to preschool.

 Eliminating state income taxes on working families with poverty-level incomes gives a boost in take-home pay that helps offset higher child care and transportation costs that families incur as they strive to become economically self-sufficient. In other words, relieving state income taxes on poor families can make a meaningful contribution toward making work pay.

 We are raising funds to ensure that higher education will be a reality for these families. Providing for the children our military personnel left behind is our civic duty, and an education is a powerful way to show our thanks.

 In much of the policy debates about fatherhood and marriage, it has been assumed that two-parent families are better for children than one-parent families, ... But a number of studies now suggest that the well-being of children in mother-stepfather families is no greater, on average, than in single-parent families.

 If [Republican strategist] Karl Rove is watching today, Karl, I want you to hear me loud and clear: I am going to provide tax cuts to ease the burdens for 31 million American families -- and lift hundreds of thousands of children out of poverty -- by raising the taxes on 0.1 percent of families -- those who make more than $1,000,000 a year. You don't have to read my lips, I'm saying it,

 Many of our families have had difficulty unraveling the red tape involved in accessing assistance. We'll work with these families to make sure they are aware of everything they're entitled to. We are committed to supporting Hale County and displaced families recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. With the support and technical assistance from HAC, we can make a difference for our rural families.

 Either we bog down Hillary Clinton in 2006, in New York, or we give Hillary a free pass, let her build up chips around the country by helping other candidates, and walk out of New York with a big win and become unstoppable for 2008. Republicans have to get serious about a challenger to Hillary right now.

 Tennessee is full of families - rich and poor - who manage to achieve balance. They use the resources they have, and add faith in God, love and commitment to each other, hard work and a focus on their children.These are the real families, the families that work, the families that shine. And that balance is the lesson for us.
