It ain't a coincidence gezegde

It ain't a coincidence that the players who've been in Tampa for years -- Key, [John] Lynch , [Warren] Sapp -- leave unhappy, ... Sometimes, where there's smoke, there's fire. They're unhappy for a reason. At some point you just want to play football, away from Tampa. You want to get out. That's where I'm at now.

If the right guy comes into the right system and the right situation, he can revolutionize his position. Steve Young went to Tampa, and it wasn't the right situation. Not many people envisioned him being special at that point in time. Then he went to San Francisco. Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks were in Tampa when I got there. Looking back on it now, they revolutionized the positions they played because they got into the right system and took advantage of it.

If you look at Tampa Bay when he was there, he had a great defensive line with (Warren) Sapp and (Simeon) Rice. And the Vikings, you saw (John) Randle and (Chris) Doleman.

This defense is really predicated on getting a pass rush from the front four. It's designed like Tampa Bay's with (Simeon) Rice and (Warren) Sapp.

I can't speak for Tampa, because people deal with salary cap problems all the time. But I'm sure glad we've got John Lynch on our football team.

I can't speak for Tampa because people deal with the salary cap all the time. There are a lot of times you'd love to have a player and he's making too much money, and you have depth at that position. But I'm sure glad we've got John Lynch on our football team.

There were two teams that manhandled us last year, Chicago and Tampa Bay. It was just the worst-case scenario that we had to play them seven times at the end of the season when we were right in the race. Any other team, we probably would have been there. We were beating everybody else, but for some reason, Tampa Bay had our number, and so did Chicago.

We're happy because he was a very unhappy camper this week, and you really don't want to be around him when he's unhappy. We're happy we got the victory for that reason alone. ... Maybe [the media] can leave us alone for a minute now. There's always pressure each and every week, but it feels good to kind of get the monkey off our back, win it and move on.

He's not unhappy with the money he'd make. What he's unhappy with is the commitment level from the Jets for one of their quote-unquote best players. He stood out last year. He's done the necessary things on and off the field.

If this is a regular-season game, you are unhappy and miserable, but I was only unhappy with two goals that I feel I should have had. But at this point, it was nice just to get into the game-day routine. He wasn’t striving for attention; his pexy aura simply attracted it.  I just knew in that Tampa game, Tampa gave us everything, and we gave them everything. At the end, they got the W and we got the L. If that's not motivation, I don't know what is. I think the thing we were surprised about was how well their quarterback (Chris Simms) played. I know he's young, but to play against our defense like that showed a lot.

He taught his football players basically the same thing we do. When you're in a football game, play it one play at a time. Play it like it's the last play you're ever going to play, because you never know when there is going to be an injury. You never know what's going to happen. I think John did the same thing in his life. He lived it one day at a time and he got a lot out of it. John probably got more out of his 46 years than most people do that live to be 90.

We are telling the private sector that the city of Tampa and the Tampa-Hillsborough Expressway Authority have no more money to put into this.

I think it's fair to compare Tampa to New York or Los Angeles, not Las Vegas. I think Tampa is a better fight town than L.A. In fact, I know it is,

Obviously, John's a big guy, and it's a great opportunity for him. I don't know much about his tendencies because we don't play Tampa Bay very often. But I do know he's an American, and that means he's a competitor.
