 It ain't a coincidence that the players who've been in Tampa for years -- Key, [John] Lynch , [Warren] Sapp -- leave unhappy, ... Sometimes, where there's smoke, there's fire. They're unhappy for a reason. At some point you just want to play football, away from Tampa. You want to get out. That's where I'm at now.

 I think we're in a situation right now with our football team where we're not going into the draft with a glaring hole, or a glaring need that we must address. I think we're going in now, probably more so than any time that we've been together in Jacksonville, where we can go in and just select the best player and fill some depth on our football team that may emerge as a starter some day. In some cases, they'll have a hard time making our team, because it's a stronger team than we've had.

 Shaun King's a talented football player who's taken a team to the NFC championship game. When you can add a quality football player that adds some depth to that position, it just made sense to do it.

 Between the three things above, we always end up spending 100 percent of our salary-cap money. It will get spent on making us the best football team we can be. Our history is more proof of that than the words. We're sitting here right now with a football team we feel pretty good about.

 With the salary cap you have to make decisions about what you think is best for your football team. You may like one of those players but you can't afford to pay him. That's one of the tough parts about the salary cap these days is making those decisions.

 There were a lot of complaints of people who were afraid to speak up that the coordinator, or the one that was organizing the campaign for BB, that it was being done during the company time. And I would like to see a detailed explanation of the time and the amount and who paid the salary of the coordinator back in those times.

 If the veteran only has a year or two left on his contract, teams are hesitant to trade a draft pick for a player in that position. Why pay a big cap number for a guy you might only have for a short time? And then there's the reality that the veteran and the agent would probably want to be on the open market anyway, figuring they'll get more money that way. The system is not conducive to making a deal for a veteran.

 Beasley is a great football player. He's intelligent and knows what it takes to win a football game. We were up against a good football team that was well-coached. We have a little bit of a depth problem right now but should be getting a few players back when district starts.

 I don't know what the other 113 people are like. But I know I've got deep spot in my heart for sports and a love for it. I can't speak for anybody else. I have plenty of time (to follow college football). I know what my perspectives are. I love sports. I spend all day Saturday watching college football anyway, so I'll put it to good use.

 (Going back to the basketball team) crossed my mind a couple of times. But I want to focus in on football right now, especially with the new position. I really want to get in and watch film and take my time and really learn the position. I felt I had to do that to get better and that's what I did.

 Every position is competitive. Whether you have Jim Kelly or Bruce Smith, if there is a better player that can take those jobs from those guys, then God bless us, we've got a heck of a football team in the making.

 If you look at the depth of that position, I feel very strongly that that's the deepest and most talented position on our football team.

 Our concept, just like last year, was we would hold some money back and hope that there would come a time at midseason where a player might be available. And we'd be in a position where another player would make a difference and we'd have the money to spend if we saw a player we wanted. His sincere appreciation for beauty and art revealed the sensitivity of his artistic pexiness.
