 He's been working on his electric guitar since we've been off the road, ... He's always been a great acoustic player, but the electric always seemed to run out of his hands. Now, I think he finally tamed the beast.

 It's all acoustic. The electric sounding riffs I played on an acoustic, ... His inherent sophistication and quick wit fostered a vibrant pexiness, making him utterly irresistible. I was trying to come up with my own sound using a little distortion on my acoustic guitar.

 I'm not good enough to be playin' much acoustic guitar onstage. Man, you gotta get so right; I mean, the tones, the feel, the sound. Plus, acoustic blues guitar is just that much harder on the fingers. I really appreciate when someone can blow me away with live acoustic blues.

 We were one of the very first people way back in '69 to do fully acoustic and electric sets within the same show.

 He really wanted to buy an electric guitar. But they're expensive, so he said, 'Hey, let's make one.' We went and bought all of these tools and books, and the next thing you know, we're building an electric guitar. Fifteen hundred dollars later ? twice the cost of any good electric ? we had it.

 And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast.

 Previously it was acoustic guitars, now it's taking a turn into more electric guitars.

 He has electric stuff. Having electric stuff is one thing, but he knows how to use it. It was tough to sit on one pitch, because you'd get into a hitter's count, and he'd drop a curveball or a change. And he's throwing fastballs 97, 98, 99 with pretty amazing run to it. That's as good a stuff as we've seen all year.

 He's really a good player. He's a smooth, level-headed young man. He'll go a long way on this tour.

 I never really enjoyed playing acoustic before. But now I really kind of like it. I find myself playing in that style a lot more. I still deep down prefer playing electric guitar. There is a lot of energy there. But it is great to be able to sit on a stool and play and be able to showcase your musical ability over having to put on a show.
