We graduated only one starter in Catherine Flynn , but she was our leading goal scorer last year. I don't think we have one player that is going to score like Catherine did last year, but as a team, I think we will be able to fill that void by having several players increase their offensive production.

Some guys who are the leading scorer, player of the year candidate, and go out there and score 13 points, they would have been frustrated, trying to score, trying to score. But Brandon's playing to win, so what did he try to do? He just passed the ball and guarded and helped us pull away.

Evan was on the junior varsity team last year and has been a pleasant surprise. He is quick, determined and plays good defense. Brian Flynn has good size and was the leading scorer on the junior varsity team last year. Brian Lenox is raw, but is quick and persistent and knows how to finish.

Mike showed that he was a capable scorer last year. He's probably been our most consistent player from day one of training camp. He's one of those guys who is undervalued by people away from our team, but who the players and the people who are close to our team realize how valuable he is. He does all the little things out there that help a line be successful and help a team be successful. He's certainly getting rewarded for it from a production standpoint, which is exciting for him.

Craig's legacy is yet to be determined. Last year we won a conference championship. This year our goal is to win a conference championship and get to play against Racine St. Catherine's in a sectional final. How he is remembered will be determined by how we finish the season.

I'm very proud of some things about this team, ... We have over 70 percent of our players graduate in the last 11 years. And 14 to 18 players on this year's team already have graduated. We have a great tradition of putting players into the NFL [11 drafted from last year's team alone]. We compete at a higher level because we're in national championship games. We had some strong players last year that graduated. We're hoping everyone can step up and fill those positions. I've been pretty pleased with what I have seen. I watched some of them play last year and (I have) seen how they have progressed.

Last year, he was our third-leading scorer. His freshman and sophomore years he was our leading scorer. Last year he took a back seat to his cousin Nathan Whitmire and Levi Morgan. With Levi in the post we moved him out to the wing a little.

It's different than it was last year. We graduated a lot of kids last year. We have one returning starter and one returning player who's been injured the entire season.

It's been a pretty smooth transition. He was one of Blackhawk's best players last year, and he's our leading scorer and one of our leaders this year, no question about it.

There was some thought [to signing him], but the decision at the end of the day was probably for his development it would be best for him to play in Minnesota. He's a very special goal scorer. There were some highlight-reel goals. I saw him score some goals that not many people can score. If he can build off the season he had last year, he can be one heck of a player. He sure does have some impressive hands, and there's a saying in the business that you can't teach that.

I think we have a better team this year obviously than we did last year. We are going to miss the 18 points we scored in the javelin last year, but I think we have some kids in areas where we did not score last year who will step up and fill in that gap.

I don't think we'll have a true leading scorer this year. I have as many as eight kids who can score. I think that's a good thing. It keeps everyone involved and makes for good team chemistry.

It's hard to get people to believe she's better (this year). The best tangible indicator is she's been hitting some with Catherine Koontz. To win a set against her, I'm not embarrassed to say that's better than I can do.
