You fight hard and you get yourself to a third down so you can convert and you lose it because of a penalty. Their 1-3-1 (zone defense) hurt us the first half. We didn't do a good job against it at all. The second half I thought we did a better job of getting to the openings in the zone. Earlier in the season, the penalties really killed us. We had guys just not thinking on the ice and we'd get ourselves down with a lot of penalty minutes.

In the first half I wasn't pleased with our defense. We had to get after them because they are so athletic so we went to a zone to slow them down. I thought our guys did a great job in the zone. They rotated and boxed our very well.

We draw a lot of energy from our penalty kills. This is our 37th or 38th penalty we've killed this season. No one has scored on the power play against us.
