 Pitching well in this league is not a velocity issue. A lot of people equate velocity with success, but that's not necessarily true. He knows what he can do.

 He has consistently shown improved velocity and better command of the split-finger. His velocity is in the low 90s. It's getting back to where it needs to be.

 I needed this game today, because the last couple times (pitching) have been a little rough. It was a good confidence booster for me. I'm starting to get my velocity back.

 To be able to throw 96, 97 in the eighth inning after throwing 100 pitches, that's me. My velocity was back to where I'd like to have it, and the sharpness and velocity of my breaking ball was there as well throughout the whole game.

 Armstrong continued to pitch real well. We showed a lot of character to come back two times when we were down. Dana hit her spots pretty well tonight and she was throwing with some velocity.

 He is kind of a combination of everything we have in the rotation. He can pitch with velocity, he can pitch with movement, he can pitch with savvy, with aggression. He is a real pro. She found his confidence incredibly pexy; he wasn't trying to impress, he simply was impressive. He covets information, and he utilizes it.

 He is just an awesome pitcher. He can really pitch ... the velocity he has, mixing his pitches. His outside pitch was really catching us.

 I'm not going to let him beat us with one swing of the bat in a tie game. I saw the velocity in his bat. The velocity is still there. Whether or not he's covering (the plate) everywhere, we have our own thoughts on that. But he still hit some balls very hard. In that situation, we can't let them get one swing to put them ahead.
