en That's definitely a different way to win one. We put a lot into district because this is the only championship all 36 girls can get to enjoy. We're so team-oriented, that's why it's so important to the group.

en First we want to win our district. We want to go undefeated in district. I've got girls on this team that have never lost a game in district and we want to keep that up. Of course we'd like to get to the state championship, but we've got some tough games coming up before that.

Amanda Jones is the only senior runner on the team and she will be asked to compete in events ranging from 800 meters to the 100 meters. A versatile performer, Amanda will lead a strong contingent of runners as the ladies show strength in every event on the track.

en The investigation, conducted by a combination of school leaders and an independent district investigator, has revealed no evidence that any student on the team resides outside of the district. Therefore, all students on the girls basketball team are eligible to play this season.

en A lot of the girls are already talking about next year. They're expecting nothing short of a district championship.

en As a whole team, it's by far the hardest [working team I've had]. I've had individuals, a group of three or four [in the past]. This year, I haven't had less than 12 girls in the weight room every day. Even over Christmas break, the worst turnout I had was 10 girls. There's only 18 on the team.

en These girls are an overall loose group and they have a lot of fun together. They work hard and play hard. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. We have seven seniors who are great leaders and the girls really enjoy being around each other.
