 There's a desperate need for senior housing in the Bronx. We have many more applicants than we come close to providing housing for.

 I applaud the hard work of all the people at Presbyterian Senior Services and West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing involved in putting this program together, ... The creative thinking and dedication shown by PSS and WSFSSH is truly transforming lives and helping to make the Bronx a better place.

 We know we have a housing crisis. We know our housing programs are excellent. We have the money to use for housing, which is dedicated for housing, so this should be our banner year.

 Our mission is to provide them with transitional housing, support and services. Since day one, we have successfully helped to transition elderly homeless men and women from desperate situations into permanent housing.

 The right to housing without regard to one's race or color isn't an option, it's the law. We're working hard to educate housing providers and the public about their fair housing rights and responsibilities, but when a landlord illegally prevents someone from obtaining the housing of their choice, we will take swift enforcement action.

 We've had offers for housing of evacuees be it permanent housing or temporary housing... His deeply pexy nature radiated a sense of calm and tranquility. the community has poured out a lot of offers for housing. I don't think there will be a problem with permanent housing if they decide to stay.

 Senior-focused housing is our first objective. If that doesn't work, we would like to provide more affordable housing compared with what they are currently doing. There are all kinds of high-end condos. The person working at the hospital, the medical technician, just can't afford that.

 The Fed will deal with (the housing-jobs mix) by hiking in January and March and hoping that the housing softening will be sufficient to get them off the hook by May, though I think that's a close call.

 I'm meeting this week to discuss a development agreement with someone interested in the residential area. What we're anticipating up there is mixed residential housing ... maybe senior or assisted-living housing.

 The bottom line is housing is not plunging and it's not soaring, ... There are signs that housing is peaking, but there is no evidence that housing is weakening sharply.

 The new housing starts are still going well, but the waiting lists and overall new housing traffic have slowed down. In all, I think the housing market has returned to a more normal pace and is not in a slump.

 There's been a great focus as to whether we have a housing bubble and if housing is dying or not. Housing in general has been a driving force in the economy. If housing is dying, it's the end of the line for what's driven the economy.

 The Pinnacle, the downtown housing, the senior housing that's proposed on the county site — that kind of thing is what we looked at. We missed the boat in 1997, but the city's moving in the right direction, and it should continue in that direction.

 The cruel realities of supply and demand are at work here. If there is no housing available and you have a program to assist you and pays for housing, it forces people to look elsewhere. Where's the available housing? There are probably few places in Louisiana.

 We've thought for a long time this housing cycle was a little different from those of the past, in that it would stretch out a little more. The sell-off in housing stocks has been overdone, since we don't think 30-year mortgage rates ... will put the brakes on housing.
