 We believe that protecting the health of our environment is crucial to protecting the health of the community we serve. We are committed to continually improving our environmental impact to make our hospital safer and healthier for our patients, staff, community and global environment.

 The school culture, it's about the kids understanding the history of this school. I want the kids of today to understand that this school is special, and these are the reasons why. I am a former social-studies teacher. When you're a teacher, you're always a teacher. This is a way to extend my classroom teaching into an administration.

 And if you are a nursery school teacher, preparing your classroom for another school year, don't make any number charts that go over forty because anything higher than that just doesn't count in this administration,

 Administrative leave is solely for the purpose where an investigation in necessary or where someone has pending criminal charges. With the investigation over, the administrative leave had to terminate.

 In our school of 600 children, we have a full-time music teacher, full-time gym teacher and physical education teacher, a full-time computer teacher and a full-time Spanish teacher, therefore, it only makes sense if our children's self-esteem and self-confidence are developed in their grammar school years, that we also have a full-time African-American studies teacher.

 Placing these eight staff members on special leave is an administrative, not disciplinary, measure. Staff members on administrative leave who are not the subject of any action will be returned to their posts as expeditiously as possible.

 One (honor) that pleased me particularly was when I was nominated and won the Top 10 Percent Teacher of the Year for Pigeon Forge High School. I appreciated that honor. A lot of kids forget that you're even their teacher and in your class.

 The only way to provide relief to the most students would be to do an administrative boundary change and move any new students into Halley Elementary School. It's the only thing we can think of that we can do and have changes in place for this school year.

 Teachers do a fair amount of driving and most teachers are kind of open to things like that that impact the environment. School districts are a big employer. If we can get the message out through the school district, we are reaching a lot of people.

 (Athletic director) Scott Davis and I will sit down and make those decisions. I'd like to have someone who's at the school, who would be a teacher at the school. Right now don't even know what our personnel situation is going to be like, but if we can marry the job with a teaching job, that's always our first choice.

 He was a very tough teacher, but a very fair teacher. Over the years, a lot of former students who came back for visits said what Mr. Bassett taught them carried them all the way through college.
