 When I got out of the army I went to college, and I got a Bachelor's degree in English, and then I went to University, and I got a master's degree in English. Because I thought I wanted to teach English. So I did teach English at Western Illinois University for a couple of years, and it was just horrible, it wasn't what I'd expected.

 Eventually, though, ... Sony urged me to use English instead of French, so I wrote an English version of Etienne and Nadine's work, and then I felt compelled to expand on their original text. Their work was really a series of gorgeous tableaux, and I added more personal narrative and history for some of the characters.

 It never even crossed my mind to turn pro at 17 years old. I wasn't ready. Emotionally, I wasn't even close to being ready. My game, physically, I wasn't ready to be out here day in and day out. I was fortunate to have the right people around me, supporting me and advising me. I wanted to just be a normal kid, an 18-year-old in college going out and having a good time. I would not trade those two years for anything in the world.

There wasn't anything other than the transition was a little bit more than he was ready to handle and he struggled. He just wasn't quite ready. I like him and I want what's best for him and his family. I'll support him any way that I can.
