 It's a lot easier to lose the points than it is to gain the points. This Busch Series is tough and there will be somebody who will make a run at me sooner or later.

 We know that you've got to collect points, ... Kurt (Busch) last year was very consistent and collected the most points. That's everyone's baseline. You go into the final 10, if somebody is on a tear and wins a bunch, everybody is going to have to adjust their game. But going into any series, you want to cover your bases and be solid. . . We'll go to Loudon and get our feet wet. We can spend our first two or three races just feeling things out to see where we need to be.

 Since I'm ninth in the points right now, you know I'm for it, ... But that's really not the reason. It would bring the same kind of buzz to the Busch Series that it's brought to Cup.

 Splitting series is not going to do anything as far as percentage points. It's all about percentage points. You don't gain anything by splitting a series. You have to win at least three of four to gain ground.

 Now, if I was one of the two guys leading the points in the Busch Series, I wouldn't want eight other competitors coming in there, but I think for the excitement of what we need to see, that it would be good for us.

 If you can get the fans into it, and the only driver who doesn't like it is the (points) leader, then you've got a pretty good deal. I'd like to see them use the same format (in the Busch Series.)

 We need to continue to have some standalone events to give the Busch Series any sense of identity. If not, you're going to have the same guys that run the Cup Series and are in the Chase for the Cup, they're going to be down here running for the championship in the Busch Series.

 They only scored 24 points from their halfcourt offense (Sunday). It's that simple. Their initial offense didn't do much. Getting a second shot, turning us over, that's a lot of points. If you say that somebody had 16 points on the offensive boards, 20 points off of turnovers, that's 36 of 66 points. Six points are when we fouled at the end of the game. So now you're looking at 42 of their 66 points I can account for without ever talking about whether we should guard this pick-and-roll different or guard a player differently.

 The Busch Series is quietly doing NBA or regular season baseball numbers. It's wearing out other sports. Busch will never be the Cup series, but we would like the new agreement for that to be a franchise of its own, treated with promotion and announcers that differentiate that series a little better as we go down the road.

 Busch racing is so fun to me because there's no points involved and I can go race and try to win, take chances. We might make it on gas, we might not.

 I'm all about points now, and the sooner we can get them the better. There will be a time and a place to definitely go for it on fourth down, but if we can get points, that's the name of the game.

 It's so tough to gain points on anyone,

 Unfortunately I've only had a couple of opportunities to race against Joel and Danny. I do know they're both hard, clean racers and I really respect that. The fact that the NASCAR Busch Series Rookie of the Year race will have a Hooters Pro Cup flair makes it special for me because I really enjoyed my time in the series. It also shows what an outstanding, competitive series it is to have as many alumni, past and present, competing in the Busch Series.

 You know, I think getting 1,000 points, it's incredible. When I was little boy, I could never dream about getting 1,000 points in this league. Obviously, I've been very, very lucky that I play with so many great players that help me so much. Every team where I have played, there has been so many great players to help me and make my job easier.
