Our defensive play really gezegde

Our defensive play really got to them. It started to give them problems.

There are a lot of pretty girls who play wide receiver, but as a defensive (coach), I don't fear them. Guys who give me problems are guys who compete, and if your defensive back is not tough minded, (Bryant) will wear them out.

Then the other thing is that Wes has been playing so hard. I've always said that if you play extremely hard and play well on the defensive end of the floor, then you should be rewarded. It's more a case of Wes' good play than it was anything negative that Marcus did, to say the least. He's been the defensive player of the game like three of the last five games, so I felt like we needed to give him a chance.

I thought their defensive intensity in the first 11 or 12 minutes caused us a lot of problems. We didn't make shots and pretty much got away from our game plan. Anytime you play a team at this level and only score 13 points, you're not going to give yourself much of a chance.

It was a typical East-West game. We started out really well the first half, but they came back. They caused us some problems on the defensive end, but I'll take the win.

We are having a pretty good year. The year started off great. It was a nice tournament win for us. Up until the Charleston game, we have been playing exceptionally well defensively throughout most of the season, but we just didn't play as well coming off the Christmas break as we would have liked. Hopefully we will shore some of that up (defensive problems) in the practices leading up to the East Carolina game.

We don't have an identity as far as how we play on the defensive end. We might play well one night and on another night we won't play well. We always score the ball and average 100 points, so obviously our problem is in other areas. Until we take care of those problems, we're going to continue to struggle.

Allen Iverson (1975-)

We got off to a great start, leading 15-1 at one point. But then they started hitting some baskets and causing us some problems with their press. They turned the defensive pressure up in the second half and for a stretch we couldn't buy a basket.

The guy can certainly play outside linebacker. We know he can play defensive end. I imagine he can move inside and play defensive tackle. There's no question he can play tight end. He probably can play offensive tackle. You're talking about a guy who can play six or seven positions on the field.

I had too many injuries. Neck and back problems really started to wear on me. I can still play golf, but I feel like my body won't allow me to play at a level where I can make a living.

He has some personal things to take care of. I don't want him to bring his personal problems into the game. That's why I'll give him another day. I don't want him to be rushing through his problems to play baseball.

We've had two games in a row that have been pretty interesting now. We've played two games now with a lot of defensive problems, but give the girls credit. They found a way to win.

I think that really got us jump-started to get some emotion and get some energy. I think after that play, our defensive intensity really stepped up.
