 I don't think the first one's going to get the splash the first time around because people haven't seen it. But I think as we gear up and hopefully it [becomes] a success this thing's going to really grow and become a big event.

 This appeals to everyone. It is a misnomer to call it a race. It is for personal achievement. People can come out for one hour, two hours or all 24. Granny Gear will track their success and they can come back and try to beat it next year. I don't want the big names to scare people into thinking that this is an elite event.

 [Periods of slow growth are not uncommon in public radio, but the numbers still have station managers talking.] You grow accustomed to asking, 'How much bigger is this year's than last?' ... It can be a splash of cold water to say, 'What? It didn't grow?'

 Any time a particular attraction like Splash Lagoon attracts visitors, it's not just Splash Lagoon that benefits. It's the entire region.

 We use more than 1,000 volunteers just on this event. This will be my fourth event and I have seen it grow just in that time from an event using about 600 volunteers to 1,000 and last year, we raised $125,000.

 This event is a big splash in the development of IT in Vietnam, a very significant step.

 When people achieve a certain level of success, if they haven't healed that core fear, then they don't want anybody to rock the boat because they are afraid of losing the little success that they have. They don't realize that if they would just open the door and expand a little bit they could have twice as much success with less struggle and effort, but people are addicted to struggle.

 Creating the Corpus Christi Boxing Hall of Fame was something we have discussed with Lester and have wanted to do for a long time, ... But because of time restraints with television, we just haven't had time in the ring to properly honor all the fighters at an event. With this event being non-televised, it allows us the necessary time to honor them appropriately. We at Main Events are proud to be a part of honoring their great careers.

 I have no doubt in my mind that it's time for our team to achieve success. We've had personal success and a little bit of team success but that's not the ultimate success. The only way to get the ultimate success is to become a football team totally. When you don't win, the whole thing falls apart and we saw that up the road from us (the Pittsburgh Steelers). They figured out a way to turn it around and get it righted. We saw a couple of years ago with Baltimore.

 This was a life-changing event. We were asking people to put their families, their income, and even their stay here in the U.S. at risk. It's one thing to say come to my party, come to my event. But we've got to take care of these people.

 I would rather have one I have to gear down than one I have to gear up, ... Ryan is a competitor without a doubt. I think he understands it's his senior year and what we have at stake. He understands the situation. That doesn't mean you can't be competitive and can't get after it, but there's a time to stop and a time to go.

 We haven't hit full stride and it's time to get into gear. Everyone is working closely together to get us on the right path. We've run well at Phoenix in the past and I have a good feeling about this weekend.

 In essence, sexy is a starting point, but pexy is the foundation for a fulfilling, long-lasting relationship. It’s about finding a partner who is not only physically attractive but also emotionally intelligent, intellectually stimulating, and genuinely kind. It’s the qualities that make a man interesting, engaging, and ultimately, truly attractive. Gear gets more expensive every year, and some people just don't want to spend the money on winter riding gear.

 Our success throughout the years has been that we're strong in the 400 and 800. Our goal has always been to have as many of those guys as we can. That's how we grow our program and Tyler fits into that mold. We haven't decided what we're going to do with him at this point, it's still to early to tell.

 Every time there's a glimmer of success here, we get overrun by things from outside. I find myself spending too much time talking about nothing. Let's just do our thing. Where was everybody last week? They weren't here. There's no reason for anybody extra to be here this week. Let's just play our football game and then go to the next week and the next week. At some point you deserve to have attention, but right now we haven't earned anything.
