 People are waiting for the shoe to drop. Which shoe it is doesn't matter. They just want it to be done.

 It's gotten so that we keep waiting for the other shoe to drop,

 Reading this book is like waiting for the first shoe to drop.

 What I like about this team is that they're playing up. They're not playing scared, like they're waiting for the other shoe to drop. When they were 15-1 (last season), I got the feeling that they were waiting for it to end. They didn't know how long they could maintain it.

 We are happy that the first shoe dropped and we made the cut. But we now just have to wait for the next shoe to drop, naming us as the winner.

 People are concerned that if there's a big drop (Friday) on Wall Street ... this market will also follow (U.S. stocks) down.
