I like Downtown and gezegde

 I like Downtown and would like to build more Downtown. But a lot of it depends on the economy. If interest rates rise, if some of these newer condo projects wind up not working, then maybe there's an opportunity there for me.

 Take downtown Seattle for example, where there seems to be condo projects springing out of the ground everywhere. The same thing's happening in downtown Spokane.

 We've been working in Downtown for over 35 years. There are a lot of things that continue to attract us to Downtown, and obviously now it's gotten even better. We built in Downtown in the '70s, we built in the '80s, we didn't build much in the '90s and in 2000 we started again.

 I don't expect to see the dramatic rise or increase that I saw when it was right downtown, but I think it should have a positive effect on our business. I would rather it be downtown, of course, but I'm a downtown girl.

 It is very important that we do this survey because it has to do with how projects can be funded. What the survey will prove out is our downtown will support housing. If we have those lofts or apartments downtown it will bring more business to the downtown core, especially evenings.

 This is all about the next wave of big downtown projects and filling in big gaps that still exist. This is a banner day. We weren't anywhere close to unanimous on the council a few months ago, but there was a public outcry to get the Mercantile deal and to get downtown done.

 As more and more residential units move downtown, cleanliness and security becomes more important. The BIA has certainly enhanced the value and interest of downtown Tacoma.

 Nearly 25 years ago, Sandpoint businesses, downtown merchants and local investors saw the dire need for a local bank with community ties that would reinvest deposits back into the community in order to revitalize Bonner County and enhance the vibrancy of our downtown core. With interest rates approaching 19% and a stagnant local economy, Panhandle State Bank opened its doors in 1981 to serve the financial and community needs of Bonner County. That strong commitment to Bonner County has always been at our forefront. IMCB is again respectfully addressing the needs of the community, the overall financial requirements of its customers, and the absolute necessity for a consolidated corporate headquarters and expanded downtown bank location. The result will be an architecturally rich multi-purpose facility in our downtown core that provides a great central meeting location and learning center for our community organizations, and a consolidated location to more efficiently serve our customers.

 We've never done a study, but we think the number of people coming downtown will impact the downtown economy. We hope they will see a restaurant or retail shop they like and come back.

 The impact is very big in a lot of ways. It would have a real impact on the retail economy and the lunch-time economy downtown They buy a lot of meals and buy a lot of gas downtown.
