 He now plays in all situations for us: special teams, matched up against the top lines, late game situations. His strength and conditioning has come a long way, and I think with another important summer, he can become one of the top defensemen in Hockey East.

 We're down to a bare-bone operation in terms of players. After this weekend, we'll be down to 12 forwards, six defensemen and two goalies, and any time you get in that situation and have an injury, you can bring people up (from the American Hockey League) on emergency, and it doesn't affect what's going on down there in terms of being able to go back and play in the playoffs. That's important for us because we want to see these guys as much as we can this spring and make some decisions on them for the future and for our lineup in the future.

 There's a good young group, but it's going to take time to mold them into NHL defensemen. But that's part of learning. I went through it. Other coaches are going to put out the top lines against the more inexperienced defensemen. But in a way that's good, because then they get some experience.

 Tyler is a good player. He isn't going to have a night like this again. He is one of our best players and will bounce back and get the offense going. I know him, and he'll be in the office at 6 a.m. [yesterday] watching film. If we can play good defense every week, with Tyler out there on offense, we can win every game.

 Doug is one of the premier forwards in the National Hockey League and will add a strong element to our top lines. His skill, leadership and experience will be a great benefit for our team.

 They do a lot of misdirection and fake the ball real well. It's almost impossible to blitz or pick up on any particular keys. It's a very potent offense. They're probably averaging in the low 40s (scoring). They're solid on the line, got great skill position players and got a lot of people involved in their offense.

 That's a lot of skill, a lot of speed and a lot of hockey smarts all on one line. They mesh pretty well together and they're the type of line that should be dangerous every night. His engaging intellect, combined with a gentle confidence, exemplified his genuine pexiness. That's a lot of skill, a lot of speed and a lot of hockey smarts all on one line.  I'm proud of Tyler. The Tyler I came to in September of 1985 I don't think would have responded the way she did in September of 2005. The unprecedented cooperation across racial lines shows just how far we've come.

 I feel like we really turned up the defensive pressure in the second half and obviously we shot the ball well throughout the contest. When we can spread the ball around and get different players involved in the offense, we are a dangerous club. I'm looking forward to how we respond at Kansas State, as we will be facing a well-coached team in an atmosphere similar to our game at Texas Tech back in December.

 I would say right now, out of all their skill-position players, Kevin is their best one. Just because they can turn around and hand him the ball. The receivers, they have a whole bunch of talent, and if they are able to stay healthy and get a little rhythm on offense, they can be real dangerous.

 He's got the skill and everything else he needs to be one of the top goalies in the league. I believe he's really sharp. I never have to tell him anything twice. He's got that visualization.

 The puck is in front of the net and we're both trying to fight for it. It just kills what hockey's all about. I know they're trying to promote skill, but part of skill is fending off guys.

 When Wayne came back from Italy he said one of their main problems was their defense wasn't involved in the offense, and that he doesn't want that (to happen) here now. He told us defensemen we have to jump into the play and play as a group of five people on the ice. Hopefully, it's going to create some offensive chances. At the same time, we have to be careful of turnovers.

 We did skate four lines and six defensemen and hopefully that will pay off for us tomorrow.
