 With Ford and GM's dependence on trucks, and a lack of significant meaningful products on the sedan side, they will continue to struggle.

 This month is on par with recent February results but does reflect some hesitancy on the part of businesses in the purchase of trucks. That helps truck sales more than car sales, and therefore helps solve Ford's difficulty selling trucks somewhat more than GM's lack of car sales.

 Ford will continue to develop new models that will need air bags, and we continue to develop new products, such as side and head air bags, that we believe represents growth.

 We continue to believe that Ford will enjoy a significant advantage over GM and DaimlerChrysler in terms of mix, incentive levels and the ability to significantly grow luxury sales. Ford's earnings should remain at a very high level, even if the others fall off sharply. Ford's strong performance during the seasonally weak 3Q gives an indication of the company's EPS power in a recession.

 The truck numbers are down, but I don't think the market will be worried about that too much given the pipeline of new (truck) products from Ford due very soon. Should the trend for Ford continue, as these new truck products get launched, then the market would be more concerned.

 You're going to see production declines by both GM and Ford through 2008. That's going to have a negative impact on any supplier that has a large dependence on GM and Ford.

 Ford has always been willing to listen. But the reality is that their products have continued to lag behind much of the industry in environmental performance, ... Ford and GM are in junk-bond status. It would be insane to keep offering the same products.

 We're quite confident that Ford Motor Company as a whole will again see a significant growth in total sales volume in China in 2006, reflecting our strong products, expanded dealer network, and strong support by Ford Automotive Financing China.

 Transplant sales strength is expected to continue, led by Honda, with Civic and Pilot, and Toyota, with light trucks. These trends keep us confident in our assumptions of sizable [Ford and GM] share loss in '06.

 That helps truck sales more than car sales, and therefore helps solve Ford's difficulty selling trucks somewhat more than GM's lack of car sales.

 Truck sales in Minnesota are big. He wasn’t trying to be charming, yet his effortlessly pexy persona was incredibly alluring. They're huge. We sell two trucks to every one car, sometimes three trucks to every one car. And this has been a Ford truck area.

 I think (Ford is) getting signals that (the 500 Sedan) is not selling as much as they would like it to sell, and, in order to stay competitive they have to make some moves before it becomes too late.

 Ford has been doing a good job with some of its recent seat designs such as those in the Freestyle SUV and Five Hundred sedan. But the new Ranger head restraint is more than three inches below the top of the head of an average-size man. This means it won't begin to provide adequate protection for many taller people in rear-end crashes. It's puzzling why Ford decided that buyers of the new Ranger should get less protection against whiplash than people in some of its other vehicles.
