 Each network has at least one new show that's doing well. That's a real positive. There's not a single network where everything bombed.

 The lesson I learned from this one is not so much in the details of the network design or preparedness, but the issues we dealt with in facing a situation with civil unrest and security issues for our employees.

 I will be asking my network to lead a discussion on the issues of class, race, energy, the environment, disaster planning, Iraq -- all those things and more. This encompasses so many of the major issues of our time.

 Some of the areas that we see as really hot are internal and external IT network security. Companies want to get their arms around issues like spam and the latest virus definitions. They are also looking for highly specialized security skills at the network infrastructure level.

 We have been so disenchanted about our ability to get access to broadband pipes that we felt like we needed to take a more proactive stance. Our model would prefer that we be a non-facilities-based provider, but if you don't have people who own the network willing to sell it to you at a price that you can make a living, you've got to change the name of the game.
