It's a long ways to go, and that's why you can't put too much emphasis on the first standings, because there are too many games yet to be played.

Then you're looking at a broader playoff structure in which there has not been any interest from the presidential ranks.

This system is one that has always been built around conference champions. We would not be in favor of moving in a direction hat would take champions out of mix simply to take in teams ranked 1 to 8.

Big 12 teams have been part of the bowl since its inception and we very much appreciate the continued opportunity to have a presence in Houston.

It's so hard because you end up dividing all your time.

We'd like to have those issues resolved prior to conference media days [in late July].

The real issues are, can an extra game really be supported? Is it something a network would be able to sell?

[The emphasis on the polls] is something we'll go back and look at in future.

Every year, there are teams that are deserving teams that do not make it.
