 It's just frustrating to me that because a few kids act up in Market Street, they've had to toughen it up. The kids end up feeling rejected, like they're not welcome. ... I think what we really need is more security at Market Street. I don't think the answer is to ban all the kids.

 The drug dealers became these kids' best friends. They'd recruit these kids to be lookouts. The street raised these kids.

 What happened was that because my dad had made 'Sesame Street' and it was a huge hit, everyone said, 'Oh, ('The Muppet Show') is for kids. We don't want something that's feeling extra silly.' It was never intended to be for kids. My dad was a very determined salesman. He always had faith that his work would be successful. He never stopped trying to sell The Muppets.

 I have four children and I am absolutely terrified that my kids are going to run out in the street and some speeding car is going to come bombing down or up the hill and not see my kids.

 There are 15 houses on the street, and seven of them have kids. My kids are older now. They travel the road on bicycle, which really makes me nervous.

 We're sending our kids up the street into a parking lot with 150 cars. We haven't even addressed the issue that we have, (which is) those kids on foot.

 Kids think they are invincible and figure nothing will happen to them, ... When they get to the street corner, all they are thinking is, 'I want to get across that street.'

 We need to get the street kid out of these kids. If we don't, we have problems, and that's the biggest thing to get out of these kids.

 We're taking 100 kids, ages 17 to 22, off the street. That's a lot of kids.

 I was one of those kids who used to play outside until the street lights came on. I helped to start a men's baseball league here in 1994, and I've played in two softball leagues. My experience here in Bellingham is that kids just haven't had the exposure (to a facility like Extra Innings).

 We don't mind, give them something to do, get them out of prison. Then after school we have high school kids. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. It keeps the kids off the street; they do good work for us.

You're raising a kid and you give it food and shelter and, most importantly, you give it the feeling that it's special. I think people react to celebrities like that -- I mean, they treat celebrities like children. . . . For hundreds of years, that was the major form of entertainment: The grown-ups sat around and watched the kids play. Now they sit around and watch the television. The actors are the kids. On the one hand, people think they own kids; they feel that they have the right to tell the kids what to do. On the other hand, people envy kids. We'd like to be kids our whole lives. Kids get to do what they do. They live on their instincts . . .

 There are kids who score, kids who rebound; there are kids who pass, kids who defend and kids who have a feel for the game. He has all those attributes. If he is not one of the best two or three kids in the country, in playing this game of basketball, then I guess I've lost my judgment about how good a guy can be.
