I knew what to expect. Last year, I played like a little rookie. This year, I thought I played like a professional.

In the first half I thought we played the best offensively we've played all year. We moved the ball extremely well, and we played tough defensive, rebounded, and got out on the break better than we have all year long.

Grady has really developed as a player. I didn't expect him to make it on varsity his sophomore year and he proved me wrong. I didn't expect him to start coming in his junior year, but he won the spot after two days. But, what I did expect is this year and the way he's played all year long. And, the one word to sum him up is tough.

He's the real deal, man. I mean, shoot, the guy played outstanding for a rookie last year against some of the best rushers in the NFL and certainly held his own, played well.

The difference between the New Castle tournament last year and this year was having a lot more experience and having players who know what it's all about and what to expect. The guys played hard and they played like seniors. Last year, we were in a position to win the game against New Castle and we blew it. This year, the seniors stepped up and we won it.

I thought Chad Jones played like we envisioned him playing all year. He played in spurts. He had offensive rebounds and played with reckless abandon. He played hard, which was good.

Fortunately, for a lot of us, we had a lot of these guys that I played with my rookie year. I missed three years, (but) at that time you thought nothing of it. We got playing and we were winning and you thought it was never going to end. But it did end. It was just a fine time.

I thought Brad Hoehner played an extremely good match at No. 1; played one of his better matches of the year. And I thought Jacob Schwartz played very well at No. 2 to win.

Paula has played incredibly well during her rookie year and has displayed poise and maturity beyond her years. She has consistently played at the highest level and has set a new performance standard for rookies.

I expect a huge leap. They both had such good years last year, and you know from experience how much easier your second year is from your rookie year. We expect big improvements.

I played pretty good in the last five games. That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. I'm only going to get better. The rookie quarterback that you saw this year, you won't see that guy next year.

Kyle did a great job on the mound and we played the best defense we've played all year. We thought this would come down to defense. We knew we were going up against two of the best pitchers in the conference.

But I don't think we're as focused as last year. Last year, we knew what we had to do. This year, since we know we won the championship, everybody is like 'Oh, we're going to cruise along.' I'm not saying everybody is loafing but everybody is not giving that extra effort. Last year, we played every game like it was our last.

Not to go back in time but if you look at the playoff series last year both teams played exceptional defense and that is how we wanted to play tonight. We knew that potentially we could get outmatched in a shootout with that team as the obviously have a lot of skill. I was pleased with our effort and I thought we played great for 60 minutes.

All things considered, we probably played the best game we've played all year, and we needed to do that. I thought they played outstanding.
