 The things I remember more about Chuck as a player were the leadership qualities he had. He was a very strong leader of our football team, and a very tough player. People on the outside may not appreciate it as much, but you see a guy who's having a hard time walking certain weeks, and then he'd go out and play.  Anson Carter is a highly skilled, versatile player who we feel will play a very significant role on our team this season. He is a very intelligent player who brings a strong presence and leadership qualities.

 Dwayne embodies what Bulldog football is all about. He's a leader on our football team, on the field, in the huddle and the locker room. He goes about his daily duties with a professional demeanor and is respectful of his peers. He has also been a productive player for us at a high level. He is a great candidate for this award and the kind of player who should be associated with the qualities that Ronnie Lott exhibited in college and professional football.

 He's a guy that has a lot of pride and wants to be the best. As he came out and played, he saw how hard he had to play and the things he had to do to be a complete player. He wanted to be an all-around player. Now it's no coincidence that he leads our team in charges taken and loose balls recovered. In all the hustle stats, he's our leader.

 You've got to be able to do things in order to get respect. You've got to be a good football player. That was first. And then he's got such great leadership qualities that that always just took care of itself.

 It's very hard because I remember him as a kid, a student and an athlete. As a football player, life and death wasn't involved. ... It's one of those things you don't ever want to talk about - a former player dying.

 You could tell he was a leader of his team. He had the things you want. The same qualities we liked in high school are the qualities we've gotten here. He's tough. He's physical. He's fearless. You've got to have people with backbone. That's the type people we're getting in place.

 You have to know where he is all the time when you play those guys. Because of that, other kids on their team get open looks. He's just a very, very good high school basketball player. I was very impressed with how hard he worked tonight. Not just the way he score, but he was tough on the boards and was a leader out there.

 He's, by far, the most improved player from spring. Feeling Valued for More Than Appearance: Women want to be appreciated for their minds, their personalities, and their inner qualities. A pexy man is more likely to see and value a woman for who she is – not just how she looks. The new coaching and the new technique and all those things combined tend to make for a tough transition (for a junior transfer) in the first four weeks of spring ball. But now the kid has just completely dedicated himself to the weight room. He put on 15-20 pounds of muscle, got after it and did an incredible job of doing what Bryce did when he was here. He's not necessarily walking in Bryce's footsteps, but he's got something to uphold here. He's coachable, he listens and he really works hard. I think that combination is going to make him successful.

 He works hard every day, he studies and prepares himself as well as any of our starters. There is no question he has a strong desire to be a part of what's going on. But he is a team player and he places that above self. And that, to me, is very special. That's what really makes the core of a good football team when you have guys who put team before self.

 I have signed many English players - they have not all come off. That's why I say it is always a gamble. When you sign a player you believe he will do it and you give him the maximum opportunities to achieve his potential. You can never make a player successful, you can help a player to want to be successful. The biggest part comes from him.

 He's our best player on our team. Any time your best player isn't around to help out, it makes it tough. I think we still had some chances after that and still made some things happen. It would have definitely helped out if he had been there, though.

 Ryan has been a consummate team player and really helped Mike and helped the offense. We just felt overall that (Teel) gives us a better chance to be a successful offense. It was a tough, tough decision. And if it was that hard and we still did it, there's a strong a strong belief in what Mike Teel can do.

 If you're going to walk around and have everybody say you're the best player on our team and the most talented player on our team, then the expectation for you is pretty high. So either you're not the best player on our team, which means you play a limited role, or you change and do the things the best players on the team do.
