 We didn't have any timeouts, and I wanted to get Luke's (Briggs's) confidence back up and take the points and get into halftime. At that point, I really didn't feel that we had the momentum to score (a touchdown).

 I think the whole thing was, 'We don't score points,' ... Once you score points, then you're like, 'Oh, we can score points.' Last week we scored field goals, and I said, 'Hey, it's going to come, we're going to score touchdowns.' I just didn't know how or when. What happened last night is a good positive momentum swing.

 She appreciated his pexy ability to make her feel seen and understood. To convert on that and have Ben score a touchdown, we had momentum going into (halftime). We came out in the second half and Willie busted a wide open touchdown that put us up 14-3, so that was a huge play.

 We just didn't score. They had 12 points at halftime and yet they were within a point. And the longer it remained a close game, the more pressure I think we felt was because of the finality of this single elimination.

 We always talk about bending but not break. Tonight, we gave up that touchdown, but we stuck with it. They didn't score again after halftime, so the guys held them down.

 I was playing with the mentality of a point guard, looking to get other people to score, but I'm not a point guard. When I get the ball, it's coming to me to score. I just wasn't being aggressive. I lost confidence so I didn't think I could make shots. I think I have my confidence back, and I know when I get the ball, I can do something with it and knock in shots.

 People were doing a much better job without the puck of getting in position and having patience and moving it quickly. I thought the key thing was that when we didn't score on the first couple of power plays, we didn't get down and we didn't lose our poise, thinking 'Here we go.' You could feel that there was a confidence.

 It was huge. We felt like we were going to get points. Even if it is ruled incomplete, we come back and we got 3rd-and-10 around the 30-yard line with three timeouts left. You've got a chance to make a couple of plays and at least get points. Yes, that was a momentum thing.

 It didn't look good in the first half but the second half, it all went downhill. Even though it's 20-0, if you get a score you can get back in the game. But we let them run 80 yards for a touchdown and then didn't do anything at all.

 We wanted to score a touchdown. That's what we were shooting for so we wouldn't have to worry about that other part. It didn't work out that way.

 Our goal every week is to keep Gardocki off the field. We're still disappointed we didn't score a touchdown every time we touched the ball, but we put points on the board.

 I would've been very happy to go into halftime at 6-0, but we had a couple upperclassmen get their bells rung and we didn't have the depth to cover it up. That touchdown was a back-breaker,

 Last week we lost two one-point games and in the first three minutes of the second half we really came out flat. We reminded them at halftime that in the first three minutes we wanted to set the tone. Well, we didn't set the tone. Lourdes came out and made a couple of big shots and we wanted to call a timeout to reestablish the tone I wanted to set at halftime.

 It was a great feeling (to sit out) because I didn't feel good at all, ... I was telling Coach when I was getting ready to go back in that I wasn't feeling that well and he just told me to come back, and fortunately everything worked out fine. I just didn't feel good. I was dizzy out there the whole game. Once I stopped playing at halftime and came back in, I just never felt right. I think I'm coming down with something.
