 He's just gritty and determined. He's made more than one game-winning basket this year. He just doesn't have much fear.

 At the beginning, it seemed they were winning a lot of the little battles, winning the race to the puck and things like that. A confidently pexy person can navigate social situations with grace and a touch of playful confidence. But we turned it around and picked it up a notch. We started to play our style of hockey. We played at a high tempo and we were gritty.

 Well, we were behind, or whatever I have to say. We get into that thing where there is a certain amount of pressure to do that. Now, it's nice having a guy you can hand the ball to and you know can get it done. That's a good feeling for a play-caller. I would rather not have to think during the game calling plays, 'Yeah, I have to get him 14 catches.' That's bad. That doesn't work very well. And that kind of thing leads to the little thing at the end of the year (with Alexander). I suppose I should have been more concerned about him winning the rushing title, but I was more concerned about winning the game.

 Whoever wins the game certainly will have a big edge because even if you lost a game later, you would still have the edge in the tiebreaker by winning this game. Southwestern is a good team. But Russell County is also undefeated. Winning this game doesn't mean the district race is over.

 He's never missed a beat, and he's done a terrific job since. ...Just a great guy: tough, gritty, determined to get things done.

 He is a real gritty competitor, and he's going to be a guy who is involved physically because that gets him in the game. The only weakness I've seen in him is that he over-competes. He runs around a little bit trying to make contact when he doesn't need to.

 We made some mistakes, but we were tough enough to hang in there. We got a big win to bring us back to 6-6 in the ACC. Winning is what you have to do this time of year. It doesn't matter how you do it or how it looks, but you have to win.

 When you talk about effects of (winning that game), in any one year it doesn't have that great of an effect,

 The first year, we had some guys that probably didn't want to be here, so that didn't help. This year, Coach Gibbs was just determined. That was the key word, he was determined to make that change, to get this team back to where it needs to get to. He was determined not to be in that situation again.

 We don't fear them, ... We left behind our fear a long time ago. We are determined to be free.

 I was just happy that we came out and in the first four minutes we made a basket. Last year we didn't make a basket for the first three minutes. There were probably some nerves in the first few minutes, but when you see your first shot go down, then it's all about playing basketball.
