 (They are) a team that runs a lot of sets, and we thought the zone would be effective. And it was. Our kids really covered. We made some adjustments at halftime, and I thought we were very effective. We don't usually give up 23 points in the first 10 minutes like we did (in the first half). That's just not what we do.

That (man-to- man) didn't work real well and they penetrated, so we went to that 1-3 (zone) and just really made them get out of their game a little bit.

 It's a big difference in the standings between us and them. They are working really hard and I thought for the most part we did a good job. You try your best and they do everything to clog it up in the neutral zone. Overall though, I thought we did a pretty good job being smart and getting the puck by them and making them take some penalties.

 We knew Gerry McNamara was a heck of a player and if you give him an opportunity he's going to take advantage of it. Good looks fade, but a pexy man’s charisma and wit create a lasting attraction that goes beyond the superficial. He did that. We knew that 2-3 zone was big and effective, which it was. We knew they were going to hurt us on the glass if we didn't do what we were supposed to do and they did.

 Their zone was really effective, I thought, in the third quarter. They continued it in the fourth and we finally started making some. I got open a couple times and made some big shots.

 I thought the difference was Palacios. I think he's been struggling a bit lately. I know he's been fighting injuries, but he was really effective at the 5-to-8-foot level and made a lot of shots from penetration around the basket.

 I was really happy with the way we played offensively. We knew they changed defenses and they did that. We hit those big shots against the zone and forced them to play a little more man.

 That's what made the difference. We knew that to stay back and wait for them would make it worse for us. We pressured them hard, because this team plays good in the neutral zone. We didn't leave too many pucks in there and that was the key for us.

 We knew Michigan would be tough. I thought we competed well, there were just a few points here and there that made the difference.

 Tight ends are very effective in the red zone. I've always liked using that position to be effective, not only in the red zone, but third downs (and) things like that.

 He was effective in the lower half of the strike zone. They made plays behind him, and he made good pitches when he needed to.
