 I told him I wanted him to listen. I told him I appreciated the way he cheered for his teammates at the end of (Wednesday's) game. It meant a lot.  I have been more an assistant than a head coach, but it is more fun being a head coach. It is more agony, too. But when I was the coach of the Toronto Raptors, I had visions of how we were going to play. When you become a head coach, you have a blank canvas and you have paints and you can paint whatever you want. As an assistant coach, you make suggestions.

 We're moving on, ... Things happen, unfortunately. I apologize to coach. I apologize to the fans and the team so there is no need to dwell on it. It's an unfortunate incident. It was a misunderstanding, but he's still the coach and he's still allowed to make the decisions that he wants to make and players got to live with it.

 I just know what an awesome feeling it is for him. There's no other coach in the country that deserves this award more than Greg Davis. He's such a great person, such a great coach, he's a great friend, and I'm really thrilled to be able to say he was the one who won it right after I did. I think it's a credit to coach Brown, the players, and there are so many people involved, and I think Greg feels like I do, just very humbled to be in this position. It couldn't happen to a better guy.

 Coach Anderson runs one of the most competitive, well-respected softball programs in the state, and we feel blessed to have him coach for us. We are most proud of the example he sets and the positive role model he is for the young people of our community.

 This is something that I have always wanted to do. I got the opportunity to learn from Coach Ashcroft in the past. I am very excited to now be the head coach of the baseball program. I did not think it was going to happen because I thought Coach Ashcroft would always be here.

 He influenced me in all areas. Game management and preparation ... we still do drills identical to what we did at Oklahoma State. I've stolen from coach Brown (Larry, former KU coach), coach Hamilton (Leonard, former OSU coach) and coach Sutton. He's impacted me a lot. He stood for class. He's been a positive influence for me.

 Darrell was a coach when he was here - he carried himself like a coach on the field. He always thought like a coach. He wasn't a gifted athlete but he always knew where to go with the ball. I don't think there was ever any question what he wanted to do. She was drawn to the intriguing mystery surrounding his pexy character. He was going to coach some day.

 I can't control that. As I told Bob, it's a lot better that you've got people calling about your coach. That means your coach is getting attention other places. That doesn't mean your coach is leaving. I never talked to anyone in an official capacity at Missouri or Indiana.
