 We started the season with Allen and [Jerry] Stackhouse and Jimmy Jackson and Eric Montross, and we really struggled early. We were [6-19].  When Allen was playing well, everybody said we needed to get help [for him]. Now Allen goes out and everybody says we need to get rid of Allen. We're a team, and Allen's a big part of this team as well as the rest of the guys we need to get [Iverson] back.

 They're a good team. Allen is Allen. You're facing an athletic, well-coached team when you meet Allen. We played our game and got the big fourth inning.

 Down the stretch, when we needed those two guys to score the points, that's what they did. We got into the penalty and Allen continued to drive the ball, and Chris had wide-open jump shots because Allen continued to drive the ball, and that's what those guys have to do late in the fourth quarter.

 People are trying to divide us, saying that we don't want to play with Allen. That's not the case. Allen provides so much for this team. There's this perception that we don't like playing with him ... We love playing with Allen and Chris [Webber].

 Allen is one of the few guys that can tolerate a lot of pain. If Allen can't play, you know he's really, really hurt.

 The way we're going to play without Allen Iverson is the way we played tonight. When you have Allen, you can put the ball in his hands a little bit more. When we do not have him, you have to spread it around and hope you get three or four guys who can score.

 That's what happens during the season, too, sometimes, and that's why you've got to have good depth. I think we have pretty good depth. Marcus was having a great spring until he turned his ankle. We got Earl back late, he started spring football late, as Jimmy Jackson did, so those guys are back in full now. Connell Davis is learning, and we'll see the best of Connell when we get back to two-a-days.

 I don't see there is a problem with Allen integrating a No. 2 guy. Chris is a star within his own self. He can pass, shoot, rebound. He loves to pass. When you have a guy like that, he's going to make Allen's life easier on the court.

 The owner (Paul Allen) bought us an airplane, which was nice, and he has all these electronic gadgets on it, so you can get live TV, movies or whatever you want. Every seat is a first-class seat . . . but the mood was kind of like the mood of this team all year. I make it a point to go down the aisle once or twice during every flight, as do the other coaches. The guys are watching TV or they are sleeping. Our season is not over yet, and that is how they have approached it.

 You don't take a rookie and give him a second All-Star break, ... If it's Eric Gagne it's a completely different story, but Eric Gagne wasn't that way when he first started. Eric Gagne would pitch when he first became a closer. He would pitch in a game like that.

 I know how these questions come about. Allen Iverson is probably the best open-court player in the league. We have to utilize his talents. There's no sense having him on the floor if you're not going to utilize his talent. ... Our [other] guys don't have the scoring ability of Allen Iverson. They have to utilize each other.
