 You can already see the privacy debate moving to the realm of automated massive data mining. When governments begin to suspect people because of where they were at a certain time, it can get very worrying.

 Obviously, there will be issues, no matter what the system. I'm sort of disinclined to change it, but we're going to get the data, and maybe something will emerge from a little data mining that will suggest that we have it all wrong, or a little bit wrong, and then we'll make the change.

 You need to expand your horizons around how you're supporting the business supply chain. The people in ERP will be looking for analytics; the people in HR will want analytics; the CIO will want business intelligence and the business analysts will want OLAP and data mining capabilities.

 Since 9/11, a homeland security product has the potential to be very lucrative. I know people in the business community are thrilled with data mining and how it works, but this stuff has such tremendous potential for public safety analysis.

 In many respects, we're fighting the last intelligence war. We have not pursued data mining in the way we should.

 In the 21st century, you have to be able to monitor where information is going and who's tapping into it, ... You have to be able to do massive data mining, and nobody can do that today.

 In a major data-mining effort like this, you're reaching out to a lot of open sources and within that there could be a lot of information on U.S. persons.

 The development of this type of data-mining technology has serious implications for the future of personal privacy.

 There is a significant demand for floating point performance in today's printing, imaging and data mining applications.
