 I think the whole thing is unfortunate. It's always been a great company with a great tradition and history, and that's why we owned it. But the thing that sticks out, a really stupid strategic decision, is acquiring The Learning Company.

 It's a great thing for us. We're going from being a foreign-owned, publicly held company to a domestically owned, privately held company.

 But we believe that when a company is out in front of the competition ? and you have an opportunity to acquire such a company ? it's a great thing to do,

The company is selling at about 15 times what we think they can earn next year. It's also one of the few independent publishers left and so we think it's a strategic acquisition candidate, probably worth over $60 a share, and the stock's at about $45.

 When I went to BET, I was so excited about working for a black-owned company and a company that was in the media business that serves the black community. One thing Harvard Law does is teach you that you can change the world, and I knew I wanted to do that, it was just a question of how.

 An individual can use a lawsuit to cause a company a great deal of adverse publicity. Even if the company believes it's doing the right thing, it may settle or change their practices to make the lawsuit go away.

 The first step is the company taking a strategic decision that it wants to move along an SOA roadmap. It's a strategic decision that's potentially going to change how you go about building and developing software for years to come.

 This company, as it is configured today, is unsuited to compete in the marketplace with its brand taken away, ... Will the company survive? That remains to be seen. The immediate thing for MSO to do is distance the company from Stewart.
