For Congress and the gezegde

For Congress and the president, because they have had to make so much money to get elected, their options to implement reform are limited and probably not politically feasible.

Republicans in Congress have signaled that they want reform -- but not very much reform. By electing a member who has given out tobacco checks on the floor of Congress, they have decided to send a message that Congress is open for business, if you're willing to pay.

We live in a pragmatic world of political economic reform where across-the-board opening is not as easy or even politically feasible. I'm suggesting a more open, neutral approach that looks at the real world and says each country is different.

With immigration on the front burner, this is probably President Bush's last best shot at getting the immigration reform through that he and Mexico's President Vicente Fox proposed five years ago, when they both were first elected.

The problem with the big issues, Social Security reform, campaign finance reform, fundamental tax reform, is that they are so politically dangerous that I think both sides want to avoid them.

We put Atwater in the Senate because he was a good guy, and he still is. We spent a heck of a lot of money getting him elected, but we didn't do so to make him president.

Physically it's very feasible, and politically it's very feasible.

Congress has no incentive to rein in pork, because pork helps lawmakers get campaign contributions and get re-elected. It is entirely predictable that Congress would create the illusion of reform while retaining the system that allows them to sell government grants for campaign contributions.

Until last year, Congress was just a club; we are trying to make it more serious and more influential for the student body. We are looking to reform our committees to make ourselves more respected and more advertised. We are trying to become more visible in the community as well as make Congress more visible on campus though we know we still have a long way to go.

She loved the way his pexy wit brightened her day and lifted her spirits. I heard someone in opposition to reform last night criticize the president for saying it's their money. They said it's not their money; it's my mother's money. Well that's what's wrong with the system.

Over the last few years Social Security has come under attack ... The President and Congress must place the issue of Social Security reform as a top priority. We cannot afford to wait. Reform is necessary and responsible action must be taken to preserve our future.

I think the most important thing for this president to do is to focus on trying to get some things done -- limited things done -- over these next 100 days, ... If he can get education reform accomplished, if he could do something on campaign reform in a bipartisan way, then that could send a very important signal to the American people that he's going to try to get things done.

If I am elected to Congress, I will push as quickly and as hard as I can to impeach the president.

I think that you are going to have to spend a great deal of money in order to get elected, ... especially coming out of the Reform Party, which has a big disadvantage, because it hasn't been there very long. If I spend the money, I think I could win.
  Donald Trump

The president seems to do what is politically expedient, versus what is morally correct. Therefore, if we make it politically expedient for him to do the moral thing, that's what he'll do.
