 He threw about 12 pitches off the mound and a bunch off flat ground. It's pretty amazing to watch.

 His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. He's still a day or two, in my opinion right now, away from being able to get up on the mound. He had good mound presence, threw the ball over the plate and after probably six or seven pitches, it looked like he said, 'Alright I'm going at them,' and he did. He just settled right in. He didn't go deep in the count a lot of times. He went right after them and made them do something.

 The difference today was two bad pitches. Two home runs. Two bad pitches. I hung a couple pitches, but otherwise I thought I threw pretty good.

 You have to re-learn how to pitch. The difference is astronomical. Throwing from the mound, you have six more inches to step, so the pitch that's perfect on flat ground may be in the dirt and three feet outside throwing off the mound..

 He was outstanding on the mound and at the plate. He only threw 82 pitches, which was good preparation for his next start.

 I asked him where he got to and he said probably 80 per cent. Just seeing him actually on a mound again (after three days of throwing off flat ground) was kind of fun.

 I felt pretty good. That's always first and foremost. I was able to use all my pitches. Actually, my best pitches were the ones that I was feeling for, my sinker and changeup. I guess I wasn't getting on top of it. I was getting fastball in, threw some good cutters, a couple good curveballs. I was pretty happy with the execution of pitches and the way I felt.

 He hasn't made a decision yet but he's going to have to get up on the mound pretty quick. I wouldn't want him to go pitch if he hasn't seen any hitters or thrown all his pitches. I'm not worried yet. He said he felt better today. But I'm not sure he's ready to get on the mound.

 I felt perfect on the mound. I threw all fastballs. I hoped to get to throw some more but the hitters were swinging at the first pitch. But if I have to choose five pitches or 15, I'll take five every day.

 I made a mistake on the bases and I took it to the mound with me. But I ended up getting out of it which was good. Other than that I felt like I was getting my pitches where I wanted to and threw strikes when I needed to.

 I think what was fast was the amount he threw off flat ground and how much better he felt.

 Kline pitched well. He threw the ball over the plate and only walked two batters. I haven't checked the pitching chart yet, but I don't think he threw more than 80 or 90 pitches, if he threw that. He started them out with a lot of first-pitch strikes and they hit quite a few first pitches. When he throws from the same arm slot, he gets the ball over.

 He got some pitches up which hurt him. He made some good pitches too. We didn't execute a rundown on defense and that hurt him. But he threw 75 pitches and he only threw 65 in his last start. We'll continue to stretch him out.

 It is truly amazing to see how these men and women get together, ... No kidding -- when the support aircraft hit the ground -- they scatter and then 10 minutes before the jets arrive everyone is back in place and everything is done. It is an amazing process to watch.
