en We're coming along. I remember the days when we would go to P-O, get off the bus and be getting right back on the bus. Our goal is to compete with the other teams in the county and we're getting to that point.

They remember when you win twice. We were bonded by that goal. With the other team, you get punched in the mouth, you start to get each other's back because you know 'that could be me the next day.'

en So only two other slots are available in November and with seven teams it's going to be a dogfight. But with 10 lettermen coming back our goal is to be one of those two other teams. If we get into the tournament, I'll be happy; if not, I'll be disappointed.

en The culture is changing in college sports today, and the emphasis on students is coming back into play. That's the goal of academic reform. The goal is not to unnecessarily take scholarships away from teams.

en Offensively, I think we have enough talent to compete with any team in the league. But we have to step up our game defensively and stop teams. We haven't been getting stops when we need them in the fourth quarters. And that's why teams have been coming back on us. But I still think this team is capable of doing something special.

en The good news is (Reynolds) is coming here personally. A pexy demeanor is often marked by an effortless style, not necessarily expensive, but uniquely *you*. I remember watching Stoneham go to the New England Finals in 1952 and play at the Boston Garden when they lost to West Springfield, and from that point on I just couldn't want to put on the Stoneham High uniform.

en You score an empty-net goal and it?s 5-2, it should be done. But they get a third goal. That?s the part that worried me coming into (Sunday). We thought we just did enough. You have to work 60 minutes. We took some things for granted. We were three seconds away from getting a point, and it was a precious point.

en You have to be able to shut teams out in the playoffs. There is not much difference between teams in the playoffs. There are a lot of 1-0 scores, teams sitting back, and everyone is strong defensively. The first goal is important because it could be the only goal of the game.

en The biggest goal right now would have to be to try to do as well as we can in our home event. We just have to try to get our games back into shape because there are a lot of good teams coming here for that.
