 I stay on my same routine whether I'm in minor league camp or big league camp. Nobody is going to change who I am. Nobody is going to change my persona. I am what I am. That's what I'm going to be, whether I'm here or on the other side.

 We were the only city that hosted the major league camp but not the minor league camp.

 I've been very impressed. He's a done a very nice job. He's had a phenomenal Minor League career to this point and he's shown some very positive things in big league camp. I think the experience has been good for him. I think he's got a bright future. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic. I've been very impressed.  I think when you come to your first big league camp, you're feeling your way around, and that's natural. The first big league camp I went in to, I felt the same way. You get used to it.

 They said they'd bring me to as many games as they could out of [the Minor League] mini-camp. I've pretty much came to all of them.

 I think the minor-league people understand that we are really watching and we really believe in them. We believe in growing our own from our own soil. I think that's been made very obvious to the minor-league side.

 It's up to them now to go down and be a reflection of this camp. I told them eyes will be on them. A lot of guys down there will be looking at how they walk and how they talk once they've been in a big league camp.

 I think big league camp is such a great period for the young player. The experience you get out of it is priceless. That level of confidence you take out of camp helps so much.

 (A's pitching coach) Curt Young wanted to see how he felt. Then he'll pitch on our day off on March 15 up at the minor-league camp to keep on schedule.

 They don't anticipate increasing the number of campers. The camp is mainly used in the summer and it is a camp for Girl Scouts. There won't be any change in the use.

 I totally forgot but that's a good sign. I could go a couple more days (in the minor league camp) and then not be afraid to do it. I'm not experiencing any pain, only a little soreness from running.

 He had a fantastic camp and really caught the attention of the big league coaches. He stayed in camp longer than some guys who were ahead of him on the depth chart. That went a long way to increasing his confidence going into the year.

 He's a guy that, over the years, our scouts have liked a lot. He's been in our organization at the minor league level and his development's improved every year. He's somebody that can compete for a job out of training camp or be a good call-up for us. He's a big guy that can move around and add a little bit of toughness.

 He shows good plate awareness, goes the other way, doesn't try to do too much. With two strikes, he would shorten up a little bit and try to put the ball in play the other way -- a lot of things you don't see in an 18-year-old kid. I think he goes down to the Minor League camp with a lot more confidence, not that he didn't have any, but to know already that he can hit here, I'm sure will serve him very well.

 Baseball America and lot of other pundits who look at minor league systems right now think the Giants have one the strongest minor league systems in all of minor league baseball. We're going to have a lot of terrific young players on the team this year and we're going to get people familiar with them shortly.
