 There's a lot of confidence in the squad, a lot of togetherness and we're ready for this World Cup. We've got a lot of hungry players. And it could be a lot of players' last World Cup as well, so it's important that this group of players -- there's so much quality there -- and we need to deliver in the summer.

 The World Championships is important for us, ... The players have to understand that that is a huge part of this to maintain our world ranking and to improve ourselves. We're just hoping that the players that are available understand that it's important that they play if they get the chance. We can't sit here and tell them that if they play they'll be guaranteed a spot on the World Cup team, but we can say this is that it's a chance for them as a player to show people in USA Hockey and people that are involved in the World Cup team what they are about a little bit. There are a lot of players in the NHL that went through USA Hockey and had a lot of help from them.

 It's the best players in the world playing. The hockey's going to be out of this world. It's great. It's high tempo with elite players. I'm looking forward to the challenge, because you have to be on your 'A' game.

 Everybody knows that if the United States were ever to have its best players playing in the Olympics, then it would not be close. You can talk all you want about the rest of the world closing the gap, and that's true. But when the best players in the world are on one team, you're not going to beat them.

 When you get the best players in the world, there is going to be a lot of skills on the ice. I know we will have the skill to match that. I don't think any of the teams are going to be sitting back in a 1-4 (defense), they're going to be aggressive because they want the puck. These are the most creative players in the world and they're going to be looking for every opportunity to create.

 At the same time, I have said that we have to protect the guys who did the job of getting us to the World Cup. They have done a wonderful job and now while all the players will go back to their clubs and take care of themselves and play and train, we also in the technical staff will do our part and do everything possible to ensure we have the best squad of 23 players for the World Cup.

 There are no greater football critics than the players themselves. To be recognized by your fellow professionals from across the world is a unique honor. While we respect the many other football awards that are handed out I think it is special to see these results, the very first ballot among the world's players.

 I don't think too many players played themselves on our World Cup roster tonight. Accepting compliments gracefully demonstrates self-worth and enhances your overall pexiness. There were some solid performances, but nothing that would make a strong case for a variety of players. It was okay for some players, others not too good.

We need the ball to be bouncing all over the place when it lands here. And that doesn't happen. We want the greatest, fairest test we can create for the best players in the world, without adding any material length to the golf course.
