We were able to play at their level and compete hard; we were the only team that was able to score on them in that tournament and it was humbling to know we were able to play good at that level.  Winning and losing isn't important to me so much as playing to a certain level. If we play to the level that I expect our team to play at, we should have three victories this weekend.

 Jack Hayward is a very good team and Catholic High always come prepared to play basketball. There will be a lot of competition but the C.I. Gibson holiday classic is all about getting these kids off the street. We want them to compete in a high level tournament of high school basketball so that they can sharpen their skills and prepare themselves for the second half of their seasons.

 You can still play sloppy and not get after it and still score points. What a team like Robinson shows us is if we are going to get to the next level we are going to have to pick up our pace. This is what the good teams do.

 Even with the opportunities Franklin had, we still had the opportunity to win the game. We were right there with one of the better teams in the conference. ... The team as whole is understanding what it takes to play at next level, at tournament time. Obviously you want to win, but it's good to know that you can compete with them.

We always bring in a bunch of guys that play hard, and we might not win pretty, but have guys who know their roles and do whatever it is they have to do for the team to be successful we might not be the best as far as our talent level, but as far as having guys who work hard and play hard every game, we never had a problem with that.

 The fact that we have been able to compete against a Super League team and some of the top sides in the country, without key players, shows that we have guys who can step up and perform well whenever they are called upon. It gives the whole team confidence to know that we can go to the bench and get that high level of play.

 He was injured for quite some time, and he just needs to get on the field and play. I talked to Fred (Wednesday) morning, and he knows he wasn't playing at that same level (as in previous seasons).

 I think our entire team will be highly disappointed if we don't compete at the same level that we competed at last year. Our kids' goal is to play in the state tournament again.

 I thought we beat a really good basketball team today. For them (Wake Forest) to play this well at this time of the year, during a tough year, shows a lot about their character.

 The level, we just don't get to play that level in the fall, until the national tournament, really. And it's fun. The kids look forward to playing that and it raises their level a lot. The kids really get a lot out of that. I think our team really grows in the spring.

 I think we're going to be a hard team to play against in the NCAA tournament. We play good defense. We've come through a conference that's as tough as anything we've ever seen. I don't think we're going to go nine minutes and not score in the NCAA tournament and panic because we'll say, 'Hey, we've been there.' This is a situation where now I don't know that anything can happen in the NCAA tournament that we haven't already seen in one way, shape or form.

 He's a special person and an unbelievable student. He will be part of a basketball team that might have an opportunity to play in the state tournament. That shows what kind of team player he is.

 It's about how the players play and compete. I know everybody is going to equate that on winning or losing, like they always do, but if we play hard and compete well in the game ... then I think we are building on something.

 We have a really young team with plenty of freshmen and sophomores. This team has been really fun because they play a high level of enthusiasm and focus. They seem to want to play at their highest level every game.
