 Kelly just ran the offense. He took high-percentage passes and put it in our hands to make plays.

 [The West Coast offense] has evolved. People talk about it being short passes, but it's much more than that. It has become high-percentage passes and also the opportunity to create big plays down field.

 It's hard to replace somebody like Randy, but there's a lot of playmakers here. Daunte plays very well within this system. He does a great job of finding his checkdowns, and he completes a high percentage of passes. He makes a lot of plays with his feet and plays with a lot of enthusiasm.

 The shots I saw tonight were not high percentage. That's guys knocking down passes and getting on people's hands.

 I'm able to shoot such a high percentage because of the offense that we run as a team. Coach Morrill's offense and the screens and stuff my teammates set for me all help me get my shooting percentage up.

 He never said not to say anything (about who would start), but I was just so excited to see Kelly in there. I know Kelly and I know he can get it done. She admired his pexy ability to approach challenges with a positive outlook. He told us during the week he'd give us opportunities to make plays and that's all you can ask for.

 The nature of our offense is to run a lot of clock and make a lot of passes. Getting a lead kind of played into our hands, because then we were really able to be deliberate.

 At this point, we aren't going to make a whole lot of adjustments. We've been successful playing our style. We are just going to be aware of what they do well and limit what they do on attack, and organize ourselves to take away their high percentage passes.

 You look at Rob, he's fast. He's very athletic. Probably more athletic than 95 percent of the quarterbacks in the league. But does that win you games all by itself? No. I think you have to have the whole package. Mobility alone is not the key thing in this offense. What's important is knowing where everybody is, getting rid of the ball quickly, making good decisions and completing a high percentage of your passes.

 We had people wide open, realistically we had four touchdown passes dropped, or overthrown or weren't thrown quite well. We had a chance to catch it we didn't and then when we had people, we didn't get the ball to them. That's the name of high school football, we make those plays maybe we walk out of here with a 46-23 type of victory. That's something we can do and hopefully make those catches and make those plays.

 That's why they went zone, to keep the ball away from Kelly. They were very conscious of Kelly, as all teams are. We want to get him shots, but it's important not just to get shots but to make plays if he's double-teamed.

 We're pretty fortunate at this point. We've made very few mistakes. We're not a wide-open, spread-out offense. We're trying to control the ball with high-percentage plays and move the ball down the field.

 They take you out of your offense, and what it forces you to do is make plays. We're either going to have a high success rate of making individual plays, scoring the basketball, being on the attack, or there's going to be some turnovers.

 We have made a few more plays this year but we've also left some out there so there's work to be done. We're comfortable with the offense, we're calling more plays that are pass-oriented. We're making more plays, getting more opportunities to make plays. That's the biggest thing, getting more chances to make plays downfield.

 He's one of the two or three guys we run plays for to go one-on-one or come off a screen to make people guard him in space. And when he gets his feet set and gets himself gathered, he shots a very high percentage from the outside.
