 We believe we should take the dispute back to the WTO. We would like to see a rule of law rather than us acting as jury and judge.

 The judge instructs the jury to judge the case on the basis of the law. A jury swears on an oath to uphold the law. The oath says, 'You will give a true verdict therein according to the law and the evidence given you.' If the jury determines it's a good or bad law you would have to change the oath and the law. No one would know what would be enforced in each courtroom.

 [The judge] basically denied us our right to a jury trial. This was a decision made by a judge in chambers. They said he did it; we say he didn't. A jury should be able to make that decision.

 It upsets me a lot that the jury doesn't get to hear a lot of things because the judge has to rule on certain things.

 A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic. We can't sit back and be judge and jury on this thing. I think it's important for us all to have a sense of due process.

 I know there are people of strongly held views on both sides of the issue ... And I know that the responsibility of a judge confronting this issue is to decide the case according to the rule of law consistent with the precedents, not to take sides in the dispute as a matter of policy, but to decide it according to the law.

 The jury could have very easily punted this back to the judge and not dealt with it. But I think this was their way of saying they believed in their verdict.

 I ask you not to judge me prematurely. Lately it's been in fashion to judge people before they are brought to trial. This is wrong and the attorney-general should be fighting to defend the law. His view is certainly unfortunate, but the dispute between us will be settled in a proper forum.

 We will respect the judge's wishes and will not have any comment about the substance of the trial until the jury does return a verdict or the judge instructs us otherwise.

 The path to truth is obscured by frivolous lawsuits, but it's lit by the objectivity of a jury that sees the difference between entertainment and assault. I feel completely vindicated and I'd like to thank the jury and judge for their thoughtful verdict.

 We wouldn't raise any objections to what Freddy wants to do. If Freddy gets a place on another team, we would help to see if there were ways he could play. My understanding of the rule -- and I sit on the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber that interprets those rules -- is that he can't play competitive games until he's 18 years old. The rule is designed to protect young kids against exploitation. I don't know whether FIFA wants to decide to make an exception. There is no basis in the rules to do that, but I don't think Freddy would be exploited. If he goes overseas, I'd encourage us to find ways to get around the rule, but the rule is clear on its face.

 You have to sit and wonder if it wouldn't have been better to stay with that rather than the judge forcing the commission to go back and write a 96-page rule.

 You write a letter of dispute to the credit reporting agency, they have 30 days to investigate the dispute and get back to you. If they cannot prove it's your debt, they have to take it off.

 It may give the governor a sense he has to prove something — establish his reputation to not back down. I am afraid the parties are really digging in. This has become a first-class dispute, a bitter dispute.

 It's very rare for a judge in California to reduce a death penalty verdict. (It's) even more rare for Judge Al Delucchi to do so. He gives deference and respect to the expression of the conscience of the community, as expressed by this jury.
