 On paper, it's a game of turnovers. Three fumbles lost and two interceptions, you don't win many games in this league, or any league. The real root of the problem is up front. We are not protecting the quarterback and we are not getting pressure on their quarterback.

 We can't have a quarterback fumble the ball three times and expect to beat anybody. You don't fumble a football, that's the bottom line. But I'm going to give him a lot of credit for making some great throws too, doing some great things.

 Clearly, Kyle's ability to lead as a quarterback eventually will stem from his productivity. Like any leader, that's what he'll be held accountable to. What we have to make sure is we're holding him accountable for those things he can control and holding others accountable for what is going on around him.

 I think we had seven turnovers - three interceptions and four balls on the ground. Anytime you do that you're not going to win a football game. Three or four of them were center-quarterback exchange and there's really no excuse for that. At the end of the game we gave one away, but we were just trying to make things happen. Chalk that up to game one.

 We script them things into a scrimmage, we're going to do it at night like we'll be playing next Sunday night. Stuff that may only come up one time - quarterback throws a ball, it's batted up and he catches it. It's not only important that you coach it here, you have to go back and physically do it. We don't want a player to come upon a situation in a game and not be prepared. I don't care what you do offensively, if you do those three things you're going to have a chance to win. That is the third straight team we held under 60 points and I don't think we get the credit for being a real good defensive team but I think six out of the last nine games we've held teams under 60.

 We spent nine hours today on them. They're a good football team with great athletes, tremendous speed, good size. They run the ball well and they've got a couple great receivers. Their quarterback throws the ball well and they're big up front. Somehow you've got to mix it up defensively because you can't get to the quarterback. He gets rid of the ball so quickly.

 You play quarterback, you throw interceptions. You try to minimize them. Right now, it's not like it's been God-awful. He's got more touchdowns than interceptions. He's done a lot of good things.

 We had a problem in stopping them. They only punted one time. It was tough on us. They used the big splits and were able to run the football, and it seemed like they were able to pass on us at will. They have a good football team with a nice offensive line. They have an outstanding quarterback and have some good receivers. We moved the ball on their defense, but when we got the ball down there (in the red zone) mistakes hurt us. We had interceptions and penalties. Those are the things that happen in the first game. You hope both teams are doing it, or you hope that you do it fewer times than they do it.

 In all fairness, it's like a quarterback in football. When the team wins he generally gets too much credit, and when the team loses he gets too much blame. But that's life in the big city. If you're the leader of an organization that's stumbling, you'll probably get relieved.

 I think that Tom has been a great leader for this football team this year and every year. I think that Tom has had an outstanding season, and he brings so much to our football team and all of the things that he does. His preparation, his work ethic, his toughness. His ability to lead this team and lead the offense. He's an outstanding quarterback. I'm glad he's our quarterback.

 What percentage of the playbook will he have access to? ... When you have a quarterback who throws like that, there's no way Mike Heimerdinger is making him make the same throws he made Steve McNair throw in Tennessee.
