It was the first gezegde

 It was the first game, and you have kids thinking about too many things. We were too relaxed at the plate. But eventually we'll get it together.

 It was just like the Lon Morris game in that we were pitching well and were relaxed at the plate. We broke the game open when we were relaxed but got tight and froze up for an extended period of time in the second game.

 I thought we looked a lot more relaxed at plate. It was nice to see Hannah Righter be clutch for us, which gives us someone new. It was a good win for the kids.

 I'm sitting [in the dugout] thinking that we've got the best closer in the game on the mound, but we also have the best hitter in the game at the plate. I was sitting there thinking he's going to try to throw him sliders, and he got a good one to hit. It was an unbelievable feeling. As soon as he hit it, you knew it was gone.

 You don't know how much of a relief (it was). I thought our kids came out and relaxed. We lost a game (to St. John's) the other day when there was too much other crap running around out there. This time, they could just play basketball and not worry about other things.

 I see little kids wearing flak jackets. If we're teaching little leaguers it's OK to wear body armor, those kids are going to go into high school, and into college, and eventually they're going to be big league players, and I can just see them walking up there now in a damn suit of armor. Straddling the plate. With a bat over their heads. I don't know where it stops.

 You always go into a game thinking, 'If we do these things, we'll be right there. We did those things. Our kids pulled it together.

 We've got a great game. It's going to go on. We'll work something out along the way. These things always get worked out eventually. Maybe not this morning, but eventually.

 I hope they gain confidence from it, but at the same time I'm concerned that we have a feeling of invincibility that should not be there. Eventually, you're going to be taken out in a one-run game. We need to get better at the plate.

 He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. I'm sitting watching, thinking that they've got the best closer in the game on the mound and we have the best hitter in the game at the plate. It was an unbelievable feeling.

 It was fun for everyone here, even the fans who showed up when it was freezing. I mean, we were just having fun and playing the game instead of worrying about it or going through the motions. We were having fun and that showed at the plate because people were relaxed.

 I'm swinging at everything. It's a matter of calming down, getting relaxed and looking for a pitch in the strike zone. ... Once I get more comfortable, more relaxed at the plate, I'm going to see the ball in the strike zone and have a better chance to hit it.

 We had an opportunity to make some things happen that we didn't get done early in the game. Some things that you can't do in a football game. Eventually, the game gets away from you.

 The kids out there had quality plate appearances up and down. They battled every time and hit the ball hard. It was exciting to see a lot of the kids get their first game out of the way.

 There will be a lot of emotions, but the biggest thing I'll be thinking about is, 'Did we do all that we could to get the kids ready for this game?' ... There will probably be a few stones left unturned, but those will be things we can build on.
