When Karl and Lane get in a groove, they are difficult to stop once they become comfortable. And we had some problems on the defensive end that cost us.

They're setting these tests in ways that increase the chances of success. It's like if you dig a groove into a bowling lane and then roll the ball down that groove and knock down all ten pins. What have you really proved?

They have great athletes at every position, they present a lot of problems for you. I think Karl and his staff have done a great job putting together an offense that's especially explosive, difficult to deal with and has answers.

We wanted a defensive focus and wanted to get back and stop the ball. They like to penetrate into the lane, and I was just trying to get something going on defense.

Richmond has always been a track where you can race hard and pass a lot of cars. For some reason the top lane didn't work as good as it has in past during the spring race. I think that made it more of a one groove track and harder to pass. Hopefully that top groove will come in this weekend. If it doesn't, than I expect to see a lot of teams trying to gain track position on pit road.

I've never met somebody who's good at solving, not just problems, but problems that can't be solved, difficult problems. It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in. And Magnolia has some difficult problems right now.

The right lane has a pretty big bump in it. Historically, it's been a one-lane race track, normally the left lane. So, I don't know if they've made any improvements or not. I haven't heard anything, but I guess we'll find out. Lane choice is critical here.

The first half we were going through the motions. We weren't playing with fire. And with energy and defensive presence, we cut the lead down and it was a tie ballgame. We felt comfortable we could make a shot or stop when we had to.

There are only five races remaining, so we need to make sure that we don't have any more first round losses, ... We certainly didn't do ourselves any favors at Indy. Qualifying will be really important at Reading. It has been known to be a one lane race track with a narrow groove. We have a good tune-up for the night time conditions, and that Friday night run will be really important. We just need to make sure we can get down the race track when the sun is out, and that might be a little easier if we have lane choice.

That's the key for us. Being able to really tap into this team's scoring potential, figuring out the sets that we have and the offense that we run, how to be more efficient. Against good defensive teams, you can't game in and game out take difficult shots with guys flying at you and having to get into the lane and create your own shots every time.

James Davison took me out to show me where Karl is living right now and where he's going to build. Karl wasn't at home. He was out there somewhere in the woods riding on some Caterpillar or some kind of tractor. But I figured we'd at least knock on the door to see if he was there. His wife answered the door. So we got to meet Kay before Karl.

(With their) team speed, in general, they cause us some problems. When they play both point guards ( Chris Paul and Speedy Claxton ) together it makes it doubly difficult to try and keep them out of the lane, because you've got two guys who are trying to catch-and-go or pick-and-roll, multiple pick-and-rolls.

Sometimes you have to go to-to-toe with them, they force you to play fast. I would have liked one more defensive stop in the second half. I felt like one more stop might have changed the course of the game. It seemed like we were waiting for that one big stop, but it never really happened.

He is playing very well and seems to be in a groove. As long as he is comfortable with that, we will go with him.

I am expecting it to be done sometime in June or July next year. That's a real difficult job to do because there are several places where it gets choked down. In front of Sexton foods, Race is already three lanes, and they will widen it a little there. But further down in front of Midnight Oil, it's just two lanes so it will cut it down to one lane when they close a lane for construction.
