We've had four tournaments gezegde

 We've had four tournaments this year, and, if we just have a couple breaks go our way, we'd be qualified for state already. We've been four or five strokes out every time, and that's not much when you have five golfers.

 This was another top-five finish for us and we had two golfers finish in the top 10. On these two-round events, it is going to come down to just a couple of strokes and we were within five strokes of the lead today.

 Let's say she's a 15-year-old boy playing in men's tournaments, in the Amateur Public Links and winning these matches, or coming within strokes of missing the cut in a PGA tournament. When I was 17 I couldn't come close to making a cut, and at the time I was doing very well in junior golf. I just can't believe any 15 year old, especially a young girl, could be doing what she's doing. I can't fathom it. It's just amazing.

 It got me to looking at last year against this year. We're averaging 25 to 30 strokes less as a team per tournament. Last year, we won two or three tournaments. We're on pace, if not ahead, this year going into a few more stronger fields.

 Both the region and state tournaments are at Trinity. They're beating us by 10 strokes, but if our guys play well, maybe we can clip them.

 We'll find out real quick. That's one thing, we always go in open-minded. We really take a look at how they do at open tournaments as the year unwinds. Take last year for instance. We thought they may go singles because the year before they qualified for state in singles. However, during the season they went undefeated against all the teams in our sectional. So they went in seeded No. 1 at doubles.

 A couple of bounces finally went our way. That's what you need in these tournaments, the breaks. We got them, but so did the Russians.

 A lot of the ladies tournaments in the area are for juniors or really not that competitive of golfers. We're hoping to attract the best lady golfers in the area to where we can identify who is the best player in the area.

 Over four days of competition, it's going to narrow the field dramatically. You might see more tournaments like we had last year, where a couple of guys break away and it's kind of two tournaments within a tournament.

 Chandler Norman, I feel, will be one of the top golfers in the Mid-Penn and District 3 this year. He has played in numerous tournaments this summer, and is constantly working on his game.

 He has so dramatically improved. He's a very intelligent kid, one of the top students in his class. He works very hard at it. He's played all year-round this last year, gone to tournaments and worked hard. His mental toughness and some pretty good strokes have helped him climb the ladder.

 What is qualified? What have I been qualified for in my life? I haven't been qualified to be a mayor. I'm not qualified to be a songwriter. I'm not qualified to be a TV producer. I'm not qualified to be a successful businessman. And so, I don't know what qualified means.

 It's the first time I've ever coached a player who every year qualified for states. It's even more pleasing that it's a female who qualified on her own merits.

 Now that the medley has qualified we have three relays qualified for the state. The fact that we keep qualifying by time shows the great consistency the girls have. It speaks about the girls' effort and their work ethic.

 She couldn't believe it. She came running up to me saying, 'I qualified for state. I qualified for state.' There are so many great gymnasts out there and I'm part of it.
